  1. Really ?!?!?! Must ready the nerd survival kit at once!!!!!
  2. Hey I can't find a date anywhere D: But do any of you know when the CK comes out?
  3. But there's a mistake, I can't find Game of the year edition anywhere on steam!
  4. Will there be dragons underwater? That'd be sweet, on a boat, Dragon attack!!! Those dragons would have some treasure.
  5. Disturbing, both the announcement and reaction. Tread wearily until more info comes out. If they see this reaction and immediately release PC gameplay, I will be very satisfied, and if they don't, their silence will make a statement as well. Despite Oblivion being a port it was pretty amazing, y'all have to admit, but mods were a large part of that awesomeness too. Not just adding things, but fixing things. It looks like we will have this capability no matter what. Right now I feel a little betrayed by ports though. CoD blackops even on deep discount was deeply disappointing. That withstanding reaching a larger audience is also dangerous. After recieving my pre ordered Civ5 I played a whole game (in 2 hours, thats how long some of my TURNS in Civ 4 took) and after waiting and waiting for the "strategy" element to kick in, I won, and immediately dove back into modded civ4. Mods to the rescue again, but civ5 seems un moddable/helpable. As long as Skyrim retains its "rpg ishness" without just becoming a FPS without guns I'm sold. And come on guys, really not planning on preordering? Even if it is the worst game in PC history(I'm not really worried about that though), you guys will be there to pick up the slack, and give my khajit nice new textures, an AK47, and crazy new badguys to shoot it at  .
  6. The president should change what year it is back to 2006 so it comes out 6/6/06 and we can play it today 5 years ago. But I bet he already has a copy because they didn't want him to do that :( . Cuz this new info is just tantalizing. Also did anyone else notice how the giant helped the wooly mammoth? It's be cool to see some OOO style animal factions in Skyrim. And what was that guys magicky bar doing, it looked like a slow drain, not just a single casting cost! Can you just keep a spell going until you're out?!? If you need a free hand for magic, do you need one to use a potion?!?!? How many Oscars and Nobel Prizes will this game win?!?!?!?!? The wait is just maddening, and the hospital keeps bringing me back whenever I try to hibernate for the release :( . I need a demo or more trailers or something.
  7. LOL, looks like the final round will be between Fallout and TES (both are winning by a lot now) the way things are heading, don't want to be anywhere near these forums if that goes down.
  8. Me. That's what keeps me coming back to those games. Did ya know they're making a new one? And yes if Skyrim had a system like that I would be set but there might be some isues jamming magic in there and having that balance. Optimally they'll derive melee and archery from M&B at least. It'd also be interesting to see how your companions fought with you under those settings.
  9. Go do some mods, then come back here.If you spend the next months doing nothing but learning coding, blender, and, master the G.E.C.K.,it'll probably be closest to the new creator. Then this might be possible with a few good modders.
  10. I generally hope they can have cutscene-esque type scripted things, but where you play an active, ingame part.In oblivion every :wallbash: conversation became a cutscene.Only game I've played where cutscenes don't just stop the action is Mafia 2, but I dont think there'll be gunplay or excessive swearing in Skyrim. It'll be interesting how they do the new conversation thing though. It looks like Bethesda will once again set the curve for ingame interaction.
  11. Reading these makes me think the ya'll should show a little insight into the characters character too, not just their skillz, race, and gender. Not just "my mage is gunna be a tall elf guy with a sword". My first characters are always a lil' noobish, even if I play the games before Skyrim. I also think my first character(aforementioned mage w/ sword) should be a little unhinged. Making crazy decisions once and a while makes things.... interesting.I always try to act on all of my "what if I ......." urges on the first guy. SO he'll probably be a moderately well karma'd mage but with a few skeletons in the basement. Bethesda had better have a way to cover up crimes in this one, cuz in oblivion, all de skeletons were just in my yard.
  12. Personally, I love it when a game can actually make me jump a little every now and then, like you said. Walkin' through a cave, then boom, raughr, scary zombie!!Boom, spiders!! Boom, cave dragonz maybe? Bethesda games are really the only ones that can give me a jump when I play them. They make things that force me to creep through dungeons on my guard. That's one of the many things that makes them Bethesda. Also, there is a pirate mod, its pretty popular. Bethesda might look at that.
  13. Good to hear you're finally on the mend. Now you won't just experience Elder Scrolls 5(still early, lucky), but also elder scrolls 6, 7, 8, and 9. There won't be a 10, as 9 will break the awesome barrier and destroy the universe. Also, please tell them to, if they haven't already, do something with item moving, how many people just got crazy OCD :wallbash: trying to arrange weapons, books, or bodies?
  14. Wow, went back to watch it more and it's still lagging. Imagine how many industrial man hours are being destroyed by Bethesda. Many of those are my hours, analyzing the hell out of that trailer  . My conclusion (watch the dragon crash) Destructible/at least semi destructible environment! Can't wait to blow some things up  !Edit: Can't believe I forgot this I'm gonna do my first playthrough without using doors if possible. Doors are for non pyro-mages.
  15. Did y'all see when da dragon crashes?!? It makes a crater! Dynamic/destructible environment?!?!? Also I like the throat slittey/stabbey part :ninja: . I'll be expecting another equally informative and awesome trailer within the next few days, and regularly until release.I have spoken Bethesda!!!
  16. Eh, but the same people with better tools do better things. When I went from CS to GECK I could do so much more  ! Also yeah now that modding is now basically an established norm for Bethesda RPGs there'll probably be a massive surge of new modders. Hopefully this will be helped along by Bethesda too. If they've learned anything it's that modding tools need not only be available, but easy to get into. There was a pretty steep learning(not just using, but using well) curve for new modders. If they can really flesh out the tutorials (interactive stuff, better instructions) or work a little on user friendliness(no complaints from me though) they'll reap the benefits.
  17. I agree with Worm, the Nordic style boats of the dark ages had a very shallow berth, and could easily traverse rivers. It seems like a good idea to flesh out boats and shipping finally. In Oblivion it seemed like there was just no trade. There was like one shipwreck, and on land at that. Also I could count off the number of ships in Cyrodil on my fingers. And there was no navigable route from the large Imperial port to any ocean or sea. It really bummed me out when after I became an Argonian to get cool stuff underwater that there was nothing cool about water in Oblivion. There should be some kinda dynamic trade system. Piracy would be nice. Maybe a navy battle between warring Skyrim factions. Definitely moving boats at least though, it's definitely possible, look at mods.
  18. Also with unarmed to take down the big guys (giants, beasties) maybe:sneak :ninja: , jump on their back, and like gouge their eyes out or somethin.
  19. I myself am a fan of mountainous cold places.I live in a valley in New York surrounded by mountains and woods, and currently, about 3.5 feet of snow.I am also an advanced skiier and winter rescue technician(ski patrol). I already started my own thread on this, but since this game is pretty much a first I believe Bethesda has a unique oppurtunity on their hands. They can have a "realistic hardcore option" or not. I hope they don't blow this opportunity with a white, elevated, version of oblivion.I want the option to trek through blizzards and get stuck in the snow, a few feet of snow mind you, not a "dynamic" dusting on rocks and trees, maybe freeze to death if I do something dumb(wear my metal armor in a blizzard, take a nice meltwater swim, etc.).Also an avid rock climber I think this should be a part of the game and maybe a skill. Take the long dangerous way, unless you're a rock climber with the gear, just scale that cliff. Also maybe take the "breath bar"from swimming and apply that to hypothermia. That's be cool. And yea I'm psyched too!
  20. Well they said there is a whole new engine, and I hope it incorporates some of the details you guys said. Definitely death detection, like the FO3 mod. Also if you're camped out on the lam and an arrow thuds into the wall next to you, you......, got another beer and went to bed? Also remedied in FO3 by a mod though, so definitely possible to have impact detection. They've already said archery is more powerful, and I hope they do a good job with it.From the shadows I peg you in the eye from 10 feet away, and...., it doesn't do enough damage to kill you and instead lodges in your shoulder :wallbash:With an arrow in the head most things should be dead, not just really mad. Also for stealth archery the detection radius should just be completely overhauled. Same with guards. When I shoot you from the bush 100ft away you should start freaking out, not pinpoint my location instantly. Also the guards bummed out my illegal fun.Seeing how fast the guards found me after that perfect stealth kill you'd think I used a chainsaw, not a bow. And maybe like in New Vegas, some kinda opotional hardcore mode, but more advanced. Not just eating, sleeping, and drinking, but also surviving the cold, and diseases that aren't just inconveniences. Also I want their additions(choppin' trees, cooking, etc.) to be really fleshed out. They should be there to use and explore, not just burn downtime. My final wish is limb damage like in FO3.
  21. If they didn't really  us the construction kit wouldn't have been confirmed. Can you imagine what would be going down here if we saw all their awesome details and weren't sure we could mod them to pieces?! I believe the word for what would happen is :nuke: Chaosnarchymageddonpocalypse :nuke: . So that means they love us or they fear us. I think it's a lil' of both
  22. Definitely the newest PC operating system,Jack Daniel's lucky #7, or was it windows 7.......?
  23. K, just read my way into this post, and I kinda have to agree with wanting better hand to hand.In oblivion it seemed like your guy was just an angry drunk when he attacked people hand2hand, swingswingblockPOWERswing....I want better as in more options AND realism. Lets get that straight. If you're gonna be :ninja: and go around snappin' some necks that should be in the game.Kickin, grabbin, should be in there. A kick up under a shield could break a 1v1 deadlock and stagger someone, but it could also just break the kickers foot(in sneak your boots weight mattered, it should here too). They said finishing moves and I kinda hope there are hand2hand finishing moves. Take a look at Mafia 2(the H2H was attrocious, but had one brilliant idea)finishing moves based on where you are fighting, i.e. once his guard is down slam his head into the hood of a car, shove against the wall and smash head, or slam him onto the railing and 3 deadly blows down on the gut. If I can actually completely sneak up behind someone then definitely a quick lil' neck snap, or maybe a lil stranglin'(also in Mafia 2). Sleeping peeps I come upon should get the same(I think is FO3 perk too...). I've seen some people whinin bout punching dragons to death, if they read this thread they'd realize they're entirely off point.A master of H2H should be able to get out of the stickiest situations shining, like when you lose your weapon or get captured. Killing silently with H2H goes with stealth, but when stealth isn't on your side, like when I break outta jail, I wanna be able to at least disarm a single armed opponent, knock over the guy in the tin suit, grab his weapon, and finish him off.H2H could also play a special role in armed combat, a sweeping kick under the shield knocks a guy over, a swift kick to the junk does the same, a broken limb here or there(maybe). Also there should be H2H weapons like FO3. I want a garrote, knuckles, heavy gloves would do basically the same.H2H should be like the spec ops of weapon skills in Skyrim, silently kill, incapacitate, get me a weapon when I'm captured and escape. It should stay realistic though, if during my escape 2-3 guards run in instead o' 1, then I should be royally screwed.H2H on an armored guy should do its damage in a smarter way, knocking them over, stunning them, etc. Also it would sweet if my ninja guy got attacked by a bar drunk who fought like in Oblivion and I just broke his arm then smashed his head on a table. They'd all be like "dude, you just killed that guy man"
  24. Also dragons not scripted so every attack unique over replays
  25. Start with the G.E.C.K., it'll make the CS so much easier.
