Rage912
I learned this from DreadWolf and wanted to share it:To add a sighting node to a weapon, you just copy and paste one from an existing NV weapon (or mod added weapon with the node) into your weapon you want the node added to. The node you want is "##SightingNode". You right click on the node and Block->copy Branch In the weapon you want to add the node to, right click "BSFadeNode" and Block->Paste Branch. The node will then be part of your weapon, but its name will be screwed up in the copy/paste process. So you have to rename the branch from whatever it was to "##SightingNode". This will correct the problem you had when you tried to add the node before. Then its a matter of moving the node into correct position and fine tuning it. The sighting node represents the PC's "eye" and the position it would be in to look down the sights. The distance away from the sight the eye would "See" is the X axis, Y and Z are fine tuning ones. (Y for elevation and Z for angle.) Best way to do this is set the node to -10.65 on the X axis (best for most assault rifles). Then press the "view from the side" button (the red eye at the top center of the nifskope render window) and move the node on the Y Axis to be slightly below the point you want it to be zeroed at. Then use the Z axis to center it up. Then go in and out of game to fine turn the Y and Z axises until its zeroed. If you have difficulty zeroing the weapon, you might need to re-align the weapons iron sights itself (front and rear sight post). Have to make sure they are properly aligned or no matter how much twinking you do to the sightingnode, you wont be-able to zero the weapon. This has to be done all all the different types of sights you have (Halo sight, iron sights, kobra, etc). It can be a quick task or a long grueling task for each sight. (can take 2 minutes to zero the weapon or take 3 hours...) So, good luck.
LHammonds
Tutorials need to be added to the Nexus wiki. Here is a quick how to create new wiki page tutorial. This is fairly new and we are transitioning from the old "Article Database" format. With that said, I did a quick search in the Articles forum and found these two articles: Adjusting Weapons for Iron Sights in NifSkopeSimple Vanilla Ironsights Do you think this information is best incorporated into one of the above tutorials or added as its own tutorial? I ask because it is 1:30am my time and I just woke up from sleeping at my desk and am too lazy to figure this out myself at the moment. :)
