anybody seen anything like this before?

and if so knows what I can do to fix. It's only present when I use UI mods like Darnified. Vanilla oblivion its fine(but crappy small default map)

Also with the default shader, though not as bad:

Looks like the default mask/frame is coming in front of the map? I'm not sure the structure or how these things work.

I can work around it by keeping what I need to see on the right, but would be nice to get it resolved.

Thx

It looks like you don't have DarN installed correctly, or something else has changed one of DarN's xml files..

was installed using obmm, so not sure how I could have messed that up, unless that in itself was messed up, but then tons of people would be having the same issue.

I've had just reinstalled dranified, and had two conflicts during the instal, one with enhanced hotkeys, and one with alchemy advanced. Neither of which have anything to do with the map as far as I know. I've posted this in the darnified post as well so maybe someone there will know.

I can't find the thread, but in the past week or so I've seen this exact same issue at the BethSoft forums. The only difference was the user had DarkUI DarN instead of regular DarN. Either way the only difference is the look, otherwise the two are exactly the same. I remember the user had posted a screenshot identical to yours except the UI was red. Enough rambling, the point is, the issue was resolved by properly installing the mod(s), as Hickory has already pointed out.

I use all three of the mods you've listed, plus more that alter aspects of the UI such as Display Stats and Quest Log Manager, and they ALL work just fine together if you read the documentation and properly install them. You may even need to manually alter some .xml files but this is mentioned in the ReadMe if it's necessary.

ok I'll try reinstalling those three mods again. perhaps I'll install darnified first instead of last, then let the other two overwrite during their install.

thx for the tips both of you. I'll come back with the results.

Ok well I can't even start my game now, lol.... I think obmm is messing up and leaving files behind. I just uninstalled those mods using obmm(darnified, enhanced hotkeys, advanced alchemy), and oblivion would ctd right after the opening video of bethesda. So I rebooted the computer, and opened up obmm again and it was showing those mods I had just deactivated being active again...

Not sure how to resolve without possible making things worse... I could check those readme files, but not all include all the files they alter, some simply say for manual install "good luck!", and then only way to be sure would be to reread all the readme's for all the mods install and manually check every file they alter to ensure I don't remove something from an existing mod and break them as well.

short of reinstalling everything(which I'm on steam, which means re-downloading the game again to do fresh install)as I did not do a back up after the initial install of the game... Then reinstalling every mod and hoping I can continue with my same game that has probably well over 100 hrs in it,

so I will continue to hunt, and fiddle, maybe reinstall obmm, not sure at this point. Any ideas would be helpfull.

Thanks

And the worthlessness of OBMM begins to show, even to the untrained eye. I'm not sure why people swear by OBMM. Anyway, this is a prime example of why you, and everyone else, should be using BAIN to install mods. It would show you these conflicts, you would have options to alter them, and rearrange which mod is "winning" without uninstalling and reinstalling everything. You could simply shuffle your Installation Order around and anneal the packages. Problem identified and solved in a matter of minutes.

I shall look at BAIN, heard of it, never look into it. Does it have anything to do or is dependent on/with wrye bash? I have tried to install that but to no avail. Both beyond my abilities, and also most information I find is partial and leads to expired links.

Yes, BAIN is Wrye BAsh's INstaller. All the information you need is included in the ReadMe that's in the archive you download, or in the Official Page on BethSoft. There is also a pictorial guide linked from the description page. Plenty of information is available. It's easier than it ever has been to get Wrye Bash up and running.

This next bit is going to sound harsh but here it is anyway... If it's beyond your abilities to click on a few .EXE installers, copy/paste some files, and double click a shortcut then you may want to reconsider modding Oblivion.
