Bottletopman
I've been playing FO3 for a while now, and 2 days ago, after installing then uninstalling the rh_ironsights mod, everyone's hair looks retarded because of the shine. I then reinstalled Fallout 3 itself, but still the issue persists. Creating a new profile still doesn't get rid of the problem, and neither does deleting the .ini file. And yes, my graphics drivers are up to date. Loading up the saves on a different computer, I notice that the effect is gone. What do I need to change or turn off? If it helps, here are my system specs: CPU: Intel Core i3-550 RAM: 4 GB Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT Sound:Realtek 8-channel HD Audio Edited January 16, 2011 by Bottletopman
jcdenton2012
This is not a problem with your computer. This is a mod issue. Have your copy of rhironsights unloaded and revert to a previous save. Even though you may have started a new profile the problem with hair textures can still persists because the game still views the settings as default. Reinstalling the game should have helped, but I don't know why it didn't. Alternatively, you can try a full uninstillation by manually removing all parts of the ironsights mod from your data folder after unloading the esp. Then uninstall the game, GECK, and FOMM. This will literally wipe the slate totally clear with no lingering files to maintain your data folder from that mod. Then reinstall everything. If in the event that this doesn't work it wasn't that mod which was causing the problem. You will have to then play with your load order until you find the culprit. I hope this helps. Yeah, uninstalled the ironsights mod and FOMM - I don't have GECK, hair is still shiny though, I'll try reinstalling the game. Thanks for the help. Yay, reinstalling the game did help. Again, thanks for your help. Edited January 27, 2011 by Bottletopman

Again, thanks for your help. Oh, umm, it turns out that it wasn't the mod, it was the 1.7 patch. Installing the UK version of the 1.7 patch is the cause of this texture glitch. Is there a way to uninstall it without removing the game?
