GeohoundJason
Ah, yes. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. I HAVE deleted the Oblivion.ini file and re-detected my hardware, creating a new .ini file with what I posted in my previous post. And the music does play in the launcher. Hickory
So you have a clean ini and OblivionLauncher plays music ok (that's a wav, videos are bik and in-game music is mp3). Do you have any problem playing mp3 files in Windows? Can you play the Oblivion mp3 files in Windows?
GeohoundJason
I am able to play the mp3 files in both Windows Media Player and Winamp, that I've tested.
Hickory
Then it can only be a problem with your installation of Oblivion -- do you have a cracked or No-CD executable?
GeohoundJason
No, I have to run Oblivion with the disc inserted in my DVD drive. The closest thing I have to a No-CD executable is the unexplained phenomenon that allows me to play Fallout 3 without having downloaded a crack(stopped trying to figure it out). Hickory
Then my only suggestion is to follow Bben's uninstall procedure to make sure you get rid of all traces, and start again.
GeohoundJason
Sorry it took so long to reply, I was busy. I did do the Uninstall Procedure, but I still have the same problem still.
DerRighter
For those who have no music right at the menu and during the game (who will also freez after 5 min...), check if you have a player by default ! In some Windows 7, WMP12 isn't intalled. If it's the case, make an update manually of the package containing the player ; haven't a link for you coz depend on your location... For me, it solves the problem. I have the music and no freez ! (Don't forget klite codec our CCC, oblivion.exe is naturally in exception for ffdshow filters). GeohoundJason
I have tried this, and unfortunately it did not work as well. EDIT: Miracle! Somehow, after letting this sit for a while(after attempting the most recently posted fix), the music works now.
