Romance Option for Skyrim

  1. 1. Would you be interested in romance quests for skyrim, assuming they aren't already too far along for one?

    • Yes if it's done properly with options for both gender
    • No, it isn't necessary, and they'd just fudge it up anywa
    • I don't care either way
    • Something else (stated in comments)

I would like it because if it's done by modders later it probebly won't be voiced, at least voiced well, which really breaks the believability for me. I would rather see it voiced by the original voice actors.

Also all this about how you would rather time and resources put somewhere else, really it's not that resource intensive. It's not as if we are asking for a new game mechanic, just a few more lines of text and voice.

The only game that had romances that I thought was decent was Baldur's Gate 2 because they actually took a rather long time and required a little thought. Of course they were rather limited by the linear game but I haven't really seen it done better since.

I have yet to see a company pull "romance" off in a way that doesn't seem contrived. Even Bioware, while better than most, hasn't really managed it.

If Bethesda adds it, then it's an option I'd likely ignore completely.

Exactly. Most games make a relationship seem like it is a long list of little "cutsie" flirtatious comments, all culminating in a single night of sex, after which the characters go their separate ways, never talking again.

I want to see a game that portrays a relationship as it really is; one person (or Kahjiit, Argonian or Orc - whatever floats your boat :P) who genuinely cares about their significant other, not just flirting and then having a one night stand.

It's like in Morrowind when you dated Ahnassi. I have to admit that it was kind of cute to flirt with her, but it still seemed like that whole awkward "let's just be friends" thing.

Waste of time and resources. I already have a family, I don't need a virtual one as well.. I play TES to sneak around doing magic and slaying monsters.. Attending a family doesn't blend well with these goals.

I have to agree with h3Xh3X about it being a waste of time and resources. I wish Obsidian/Black Isle had blown off the 'encounters' with hookers and...oh, I don't know...maybe finshied the New Vegas game world instead of leaving blank spaces on the map hidden behind cliffs and collision boxes.

Or maybe it is a bug only i have. Dunno.
