Hi!

 

Do you see how we have almost no choice in games to win in a truly (as much as possible) peacefull way?

I would like a mod that provided craftable items and also features that let us play in as much as possible peaceful way.

It would also have achievements, like: killed no humans, killed no humanoids, killed no fauna and killed no mosters - how good you are, a true avatar! :D

(I know someone must be sick to death by now, but lets continue to describe the mod I would like to make myself some day...)

 

So, such features would be like:

- Tranquilizer dart guns, and also let you fully loot the sleeping body. But to have challenge, the tranquilizer must not act promptly. You must be in peril, have to hide etc. Unless you do a sneak critical attack! So you would have to focus on sneak also.

- Conversion speech (not religious, just philanthropist). You would have a unique chance for each NPC to be able to bring those souls to the light, to the bright side of life, by using high speech.. and high luck of course ;)

- the only acceptable violence would be against robots without organic parts (like that brain), and robots without personality (I remember one from fallout 3 that wanted to be free, IT deserves to "live"!), humanized bots would have to be disabled. So some kind of pulse could be used to that. They could also be reprogrammed to be.. er.. good.

- unarmed, melee martial tranquilizer touch, yey!

- deceive tricks, like throw objects to call attention moving the mob away to let you pass. But the engine wont cope as they perceive us as a foe from behind a wall, weirdo...

There must have other cool ways to go thru the wastes, like being a doctor, helping even the ones that would be your foes, so you can go freely thru their camp sites, like an embassor of peace in the wastes that bring unity to the remnats of humanity (and crazed mutants alike) :D

(btw, did someone drop sick to death by now?) ahhahah :D

 

that is the mod (or the game) I would like to do some day.

I like the general idea, but some of its a bit stretching it. of course unconcious effects could be added to weapon and melee combos, with increased durations, however youd still have to find some way to keep them out of the picture as they would either wake up later get up and go back to doing there regular evil stuff, or come after you. Or worse, for the neutral ones you knock out would be eaten while asleep by other wasteland critters.

Yep, that is the point, you are not going to save them all, to convert them all, u just used your tricks to go past them to complete your missions (at least the ones that doesnt involve killing, or may be to cope with this mod, add options to some missions, ex. at very beginning in goodsprings, we could scare joe cobb away by beating him to below half health with a death claw hand in the night, dissuasion tactics, thru speech also "a lie for the good", could be used also!); later if they wakeup and get back to their business, well that is "their responsibility", I mean, your hands are clean. You dont have to kill them, see about the prison I speak below also, and thx making me think on these alternatives :D.

To avoid being eaten alive by critters (what would be another interesting mod. Btw, I wonder why nobody in town try to bury bodies, they would stink so much that.. well another mod..), we could drag them to a safe place (I dont know if it is possible to move a NPC to another cell, a safe place would be some house for ex.), thats the cost of being benign :). But I dont think to create ex. a shelter would be interesting... would require resources, and currently I cant even find a mod that allows you to cut down a tree for camp fire... so in the middle of nothing, well they can count with their luck to survive, they were a threat that were spared, what is good enough.

Also, to count as a kill, to cope with quests till a certain extent, we could put to sleep the baddies, and take them to prison (yup, another possible mod..., or use the NCR correction facility moded). This prison could be also a way to prevent baddies to get back to their business. And till reach the prison, they would have to be enslaved, a simple way to cope with game mechanics. To prevent too many NPCs on prisons, only the named ones would stay there, after a certain ammount of NPCs; So later in the game you could revisit them, what would be interesting haha.. to see that MotorRunner fiend chief talking and eating soup with the others hehe.. And to see the crazed mutants (unrecoverable ones) in exclusive cells to prevent their fury... You could even recruit some that got converted later :O (could take a time and investment for conversion, you could hire docs to specifically treat some of them, and wait some weeks!)
