It just gets up to the bit where it says "Bethesda Softworks" and then about half-way through it crashes. I have tried reinstalling it about 3 times and the crash still happens, I have no mods installed, only the Oblivion.esm is in the data files. So, can anyone help me with fixing the crash? Ps. Oddly enough, there are a lot of missing files in the Oblivion. Edited January 21, 2011 by Oblivionmans

I reinstall it and the crash is there and when I go to the oblivion folder there are a bunch of missing files. Uninstall the game completely. Then, reinstall OUTSIDE of Program Files. Install it to C:\Games\Oblivon, or somewhere like that.

Hickory Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Follow Bben's uninstall/reinstall procedure. If you have installed the game from fresh outsit of Program Files and "there are a bunch of missing files", then there is either something wrong with your installation disc/archive, or you are misinterpreting what should be there. Can you be more specific: what files are missing?
