razac4988
I am very new to modding Fallout3, I have got all my mods set up and installed using FOMM, I have installed FOSE and ArchInvalid and the game launches fine so far. However I have a couple questions: 1. Not all of my installed mods are appearing in the first window of FOMM after I install them; ie, not all of them are in the data files section of the launcher. Is this okay or does it mean they wont appear in the game? (I am starting a new game so I can't just log in and check) 2. Do I need to launch FO3 through the launcher and select the data files I want everytime I play? Or can I just use the launcher to load my mods when I start up the game? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Purr4me
link to the version of fomm you currently are using, there are two likely versions possible that still work, your post indicates the version you have IS working but you are unsure of how it works. So, after you selected the archive "chosen mod" and installed it VIA the Fomm packaging manager, there still remains 1 step to activate them...I believe this forms the results you require here, activating the mods once installed VIA the fomm program. when activated they will indeed run in game ,but sense your new , there are things you need to be aware of .such as overwriting other mod's data...once this takes place ,there will be two mods effecting each others installed priority and changes will take place. If for any reason you need to uninstall a mod, you must uninstall all mods that were involved in overwrites, other wise you have incorrect data sitting in the target zones for the plugin's that use external data... AKA textures and mesh files....why this important? because some mesh files point to textures that are specific to a plugin / mods requirements...if they have been overwritten by another mod and no longer reside there, you end up with lot's of bugs..there is NO way to sort these out. so important to remember what gets installed in what order.so version please? OR link to the pages and items chosen.NOTE: do not try to log in using fomm, any version...the svn codes on the nexus no longer are there Too connect too, Nor are they on any SVN. M48A5
It seems you need FOMM and FOMODS for Dummies: https://zumbs.wordpress.com/2009/11/08/fomm-and-fomods-for-dummies-1/ I did and it helped a lot. Also, you will be using FOMM to start the game. Not the Fallout launcher, not Fallout .exe and not FOSE loader. Also, you should uninstall the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated! that you downloaded. There is one already in FOMM.
