TheSwedishPancake Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Beware of slaughterfish. Don't even try messing with guards early in the game. Don't run too much. Save often. Buy potions and scrolls. Get training. Just some basic tips, of course. Morrowind is a much more immersive game than Oblivion. I hope you enjoy it! DagothDan Posted February 28, 2011 Share Posted February 28, 2011 Theres a lot more to do in Morrowind so you are going to find its replay value is WAY higher than Oblivion, especially if you get GOTY edition. Just keep in mind thats its a bit more difficult a game and it doesn't hold your hand like Oblivion does (leveled enemies and treasure, fast travel, ect.). Its a game that it takes time to get used to. Just don't get discouraged at first, because I hear way too many complaints from Oblivion players that Morrowind is too hard. Balakirev Posted March 1, 2011 Share Posted March 1, 2011 It's a slower game, and as has been noted, more immersive. Take your time, and above all, explore. Unlike Oblivion, the great outdoors changes constantly as you move through it, and it's easy to miss important details. Also unlike Oblivion, Mororwind combat is RPG-based, rather than an always-hit FPS. So build up your dexterity. There are tons of great mods, more than in Oblivion, in fact, and the best place to look for them is on PlanetElderScrolls. But check on TES Nexus to see if another, later version exists, and the Nexus has the better comments sections. Bethsoft still has a very active modding forum for the game.
