Changing some ammo's

Hey,

 

I've recently installed 3 mods, kaya47's nordic weapons (snow rifle and ssurgeon rifle), a XM8 mod, and a darkfire gaming weapon/t-shirt mod (Hk416 eotech)

 

All are great guns, and they're realastic/awesome, but now there's 1 problem. they ALL use 5.56mm rounds >_>

Now i've never done any modding, and have no idea how to, so i'm wondering if any of you can help me change the ammo types. I've already installed geck, and it's working, but i've no clue what to do :P

 

As for what i wanted to change:

Snow rifle stays 5.56mm

surgeon rifle goes to 7.62

HK416 goes to 5mm and the XM8 to 10mm

 

If anyone could explain to me hwo c=to change these i'd really appreciate it :D

that's actually quite easy to do

i'll make this a step by step, and hope i can make it easy enough to follow well :happy:

 

open the GECK, and in the top, click File -> Data

click on the main FalloutNV.esm and the mod that you wish to change (do this one by one)

when you click on the plugin you wish to change, also click on Set as Active File (the status of that plugin should now be Active)

then click OK, and give it some time to load (it will probably look as if it's frozen, but it's actually loading, so just give it a minute or so)

 

after the GECK has loaded, you will see a list on the left window, called the Object Window

in that window, click on Items -> Weapon -> Weapons

now, i'm not 100% sure where the weapons you have got will be, but the folders are divided by animations (for instance, sniper rifles and such use 2HandRifle, while assault rifle use 2HandAutomatic)

so choose the specific folder that has the weapon that you wish to modify

in the list that you get, find the weapon that you wish to modify, right click on it, and choose Edit

 

now, you should have a new window opened, that has all the info of the weapon

the 5th box from the top on the left is Ammunition

now, i would assume that you want to use one of the ammo lists already in the game (with all the unique type of rounds)

so, for the 5mm, change the ammo list to AmmoList5mm

for 10mm, it's AmmoList10mm

as for the 7.62, i'm not sure which calibr it is in game (can't recall if it's the 308 or the .50)

but the ammo list is easily identified by name (it's just AmmoList + type of rounds)

 

after you have made the change you wanted, just save, and do the same for the other mods that you wanted to change

Omg i cannot thank you enough :DD i managed to get it working on the HK416, so i'll just repeat on the other 2, but thanks a lot man! now i can finally use all guns without being bothered about which one to use :DD Thanks man!

Hmm. i feel really stupid now, but after i got to the right edit menu, and figured out where to change everything, and got it good, i realised the button to save it or cancel is out of my reach rofl..the efit menu is too large, and i need to get to the bottom right corner to change the size, but because it's too large i can click that corner >___> Any idea :P?

well, you could increase the resolution on your screen

i don't know how it is too large for you, but then again, i am using a 1920 by 1200 pixels resolution, so it isn't too big for me

Hmm...my max resolution is way smaller, maybe that's why..pretty annoying, i can't save/cancel edit now..anyone else have any idea? and still thanks SO MUCH wastelandassasin for telling me how to change the ammo :DD

Heh, after messing around a lot with taskbar, getting it out of the way so i could just click the OK button, i set the taskbar on the left side of my PC instead of bottom, and now i can click the OK button :D got the HK416 to 5mm and edited the fire rate and damage too, made it shoot a tad fast but with less damage to keep the same dps

Hmm. i cannot seem to save the changes i make, after making all the changes to the weapon, i press save, and tehn go to data and set another weapon mod as active, and it asks me if i want to save changes to plugin. pressing yes does nothing, and pressing no just removes my changes. can't understand why since i already pressed save before changing. know why? Sorry i'fe got yet ANOTHER problem :(
