infernalpimp
I am having a problem with the mods I installed for Fallout 3. I followed Gophervids steps precisely how he did them, yet none of the mods show up in-game. The Mods were FWE, MMM, and the Interoperability Program for those 2. I think the problem could be where the directories are in the settings, so it might be installing them in different places.Mod Directory: C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout3\ModsInstall Info:c:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout3\Install InfoFallout 3 Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout
M48A5
"Fallout 3 Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3" is the problem. Windows has a security system called User Access Control that prevents changes to any file that is located in the Program Files Directory. You should completely uninstall Fallout 3 and reinstall it outside of program files. "Games" is a good location. I installed my game directly on the hard drive. C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3. Your alternative would be to go through and make any .exe file related to the game run as an administrator.

bben46
The advice given by M48A5 is good for non steam versions. (Yes, there are legitimate Non steam versions of FO3)For Steam games, The steam client needs to be moved, not the game. This fixes not just that game, but any other steam games as well. The best part - you don't have to uninstall anything. :thumbsup:Steam allows this and has instructions on their site: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=231 If like me your boot is on a small SSD, This allows you to put your games on a completely separate disk drive. My games are all on E:\Games, and all steam games in E:\Games\Steam

Also i do realize that there are non-Steam versions of the game, I just happen to have the GOTY Edition on there. infernalpimp
So, I am now on part 6 of Gopher's videos, and the game crashes on start. This definitely seems like either a load order or a compatibility problem. How do I link my current plugin load order so others can see it here?
