Literaider
Hello, everyone. I'm new to these forums--decided to purchase New Vegas in anticipation for Fallout 4(!!!) and I wanted to install plenty of mods to freshen up the experience since I've played and completed a lot of New Vegas on console. So, I'm following Gopher's Youtube tutorials for modding. I've now downloaded a few mods (New Vegas Script Extender, Darnified UI, Mod Configuration Menu, One Hud, and Project Nevada), but the only ones of these I can activate is One Hud (Darn. UI works but isn't activated through NMM). When I try to activate any of the mods, it attempts to unpack until the 50% mark and then says "Mod was not activated." I've tried deleting and re-downloading/activating each of these mods, but that hasn't fixed anything, nor has attempting to activate them in a different order. Any idea why this could be happening? Relevant information:-My machine is a bit old, so the operating system is 32 bit-Some specs:CPU: 2 Pentium dual-core processors @ 3.0 ghzGPU: ATI Radeon HD 7750 (can run vanilla NV on high settings)RAM: 4gb If screenshots/more info is needed I'd be happy to post. I just want to get it modded up and working as soon as possible. Edited June 5, 2015 by Literaider
DoctorKaizeld
have you reinstalled NMM?
Literaider
have you reinstalled NMM?Hmm, I guess I should try that, haha. I'll get back to you in a second.
Literaider
Alright, so I already think I may have found an issue. When selecting the directory in which mods will be saved during the setup of NMM, it defaults to the following: c:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\FalloutNV\Mods Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the directory for mods go where the game files are (through steamapps/common/falloutNV? DoctorKaizeld
one directory is where Nexus stores the mods physical location prior to install the other is where the mods go after install.
Literaider
one directory is where Nexus stores the mods physical location prior to install the other is where the mods go after install.Alright, so there's a window with two options like you said: one for the mod directory (where the mods will be stored), the other where the Fallout NV install is stored. For the mod directory, I have it set to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas For the install directory, it's set to: c:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\FalloutNV\Install Info Is this correct, or should I switch them? Literaider
that is correctI downloaded the Mod Configuration Menu again, but when I clicked "Activate" in NMM the same issue came up. It unpacked halfway then displayed the error "the mod was not activated."
DoctorKaizeld
oh right, did you run Fallout NV before installing mods?
Literaider
oh right, did you run Fallout NV before installing mods?Yeah, I ran it to the main start menu. I don't need to have the game running when I install mods, do I?
