w002exp
I'm trying to run OBMM on Windows 7 64 bit. Its installed to C:\Games\Oblivion along with Oblivion. When I run the program as an admin it will not start. Instead I get a message that says "OblivionModManager has stopped working." This is a clean windows 7 instal, with a clean oblivion install and I cannot figure out why this is not working!? Thanks for any help.
Hickory
In case you have a faulty install of OBMM, uninstall it, re-download it and install the fresh download.
w002exp
In case you have a faulty install of OBMM, uninstall it, re-download it and install the fresh download. Tried this. Also tried downloading the install exe from seperate locations thinking maybe the upload was corrupt. No good. Ugh, I forgot how frustrating modding can be :)
Hickory
Try adding OBMM executable to the DEP exclusion list.
w002exp
Hey Hickory, thanks for your support. I thought this was a good idea and tried it but it will not let me add it to the exclusion list. I don't want to disable DEP entirely. When I try to add the executable to the list it tells me that the program must run with DEP protection enabled and forces me to hit ok. This doesn't make sense because I don't believe OBMM falls into the criteria to be prevented from DEP exclusion?
w002exp
Update: I disabled DEP all together just to see if it was causing the crash. I tried to run OBMM and it still did not work. So I reactivated DEP. I don't feel like this is the right solution. :\
Hickory
Do you have antivirus installed? I don't see any reason for OBMM to fail if it's installed with Oblivion outside of Program Files, and DEP is not an issue. The antivirus issue could be (a) the antivirus is interfering with OBMM's execution, or (b) you don't have adequate protection and your system may have some malware that's interfering. Also, you may want to close any unnecessary applications and processes to see if any of those are contributing. Just exploring options here.
