Allowed to port?

I'm wondering if it's kosher to release a port to FO3 of some outfits/armors from T6M Unique Item for FNV? It doesn't use any assets from FNV, so technically it must be OK, but it does of course use unique FNV items (such as Cass' Outfit) as the base for the conversions.

The author of the mod states that you can do conversions of the mod and use its assets so long as you credit the author as the original creator (as a matter of courtesy, I would still contact the mod author to obtain permission/provide a "heads up" prior to releasing the mod, even though permissions is already granted). So you might be able to release the outfits that are based on resources already located in FO3 assets, like the vault suit and the stealth suit. However, where FNV assets such as Cass' outfit are, as you noted, used as a "base", I would guess those outfits would have to be excluded from the release.

But...it's my understanding that "Tales of Two Wastelands" already patches (some) FO3 resources to be used in/with FNV without any need to release the assets, thus allowing users to play FO3 with (some) FNV mods?

Yes, I think you're right. I mainly wondered if a remeshed mesh and retextured textures still count as assets from the original game. I mean, it's not the actual mesh and textures from Fallout New Vegas anymore.

For my next playthrough, I'll try out Tales of Two Wastelands. I have both games installed anyway, although I'm mainly using New Vegas for porting stuff to F3, as I don't like the game. But it might be nice to use features from it and be able to use mods w/o porting (at least I guess) - plus the FNV engine is apparently more robust as well.
