majikmonkee
I forgot to mention that I first encountered that layer on the PS3 version, so it's definitely not mod related.
Nithrix
Could it be a system memory issue?I'll check my install tonight or tomorrow to see if I have that particular error too. I know that in Fallout 2 I would encounter similar errors like that on bridges, or door ways where an opening was present. I attributed it to running out of system memory, a good reboot would always fix it.Do you have the latest Unofficial Patch installed? I know it fixes a couple of LODs.oh! Does the problem come up if you disable LOD in your video options?

Trebor44
Ok..........It is definitely in Oblivion itself. I completely uninstalled Oblivion and anything even remotely affiliated with it(bash, mod manager,DLCs, obse, pythons, etc, etc). I cleaned my registry and made sure I was back to square 1. I installed Oblivion and started a new game with nothing in the data directory except oblivion.esm and it was there! You cant swim to the lowest point in Niben Bay without going through it! I have checked it with just oblivion.esm and again with the SI, patches, and unofficial patches. It is present at every point.

Trebor44
Is there a way to fix this? Playing with LOD turned off sucks!!
vvk78
I have checked it with just oblivion.esm and again with the SI, patches, and unofficial patches. It is present at every point. How are you installing unofficial patches/mods on your PS3? If you are on PC, then it *just might* be a memory issue though I consider that highly unlikely. It is an LOD issue that is definitely solvable with some bit of trial and error. Did you try TES4LODGen with just the primary ESM's and official patches enabled in your load order? It usually fixes such LOD issues. Open up the Construction Set and see if you can spot the LOD layer issue with the Oblivion.esm data file, and repeat the process for each additional ESM/ESP enabled. If disabling LOD video options is removing the bug, and you have cleanly done all that was suggested here, then you might consider backing up your game saves/settings and reinstalling the game completely. Or just forget about the bug; it is not a game breaker. Use a CS to build a new house there, and place your own new mod at the end of the load order.
