Noggog
Basically, I'm just looking for someone who understands NPC spawns to give me some tips on how to locate the area that controls the spawning of an NPC, and how to adjust/remove the spawn. As of now, FCOM_Warcry is spawning level 25 NPCs in the daedra faction called Staada that look like a glowing Golden Saint in the midst of all my low level dungeons. Normally I wouldn't be opposed to a high level spawn interrupting my experience, but no matter where I find myself, I seem to see these Skaada everywhere, in multiples. It seems to be more like a bug than a natural spawning occurrence, as it's always a Skaada spawning, not just any random high level monster. I feel like I grasp how leveled lists work with creatures, but I don't see any similar setup for NPCs. I'm using TES4Edit, since I've gotten well accustomed to it, but I'm sure someone will say it's the wrong program to use. If I should be using CS instead, can you give me a pointer as to where the right menu/tool to mess with NPC spawns is located? I've found the Staada NPC in the object window, but haven't seen a logical area where spawning is controlled. Thanks in advance! 8)
Noggog
So, I found a patch for Warcry that addresses something about Golden Saints. I downloaded it and am hoping it removes Staada swarms. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/875610-oblivion-warcry/page__st__60__p__16271741#entry16271741 Whether or not it does, it would be nice to know how to edit NPC spawns still. 8)
Hickory
It sounds to me like you don't have a Bashed Patch, which would update your levelled lists, from which spawns are governed. You REALLY don't want to be editing individual spawn points, unless you have weeks to spare.
Noggog
I do have a bashed patch, and it's bashing leveled lists, importing actors, and every other import option BOSS suggested. The one thing I'm not bashing are Import Actors: Spells from FCOM_Convergence. I know that's probably considered an important one, but for some odd reason I have yet to figure out, my Oblivion fails to load to the main screen when that option is active (even when it is the ONLY option active). Nonetheless, unless my understanding is very flawed, not importing spells from FCOM wouldn't effect a Staada spawning.
Hickory
No, spells have nothing to do with spawning. If your Bashed Patch is updating the levelled lists and your spawn rates are off, then I would speak with either the mod author or the Bash team at Beshsoft forums. Spawn points are placed in-game via levelled creature lists. The mod that is adjusting these levelled lists is the mod that needs addressing. Noggog
Well, I found the issue! Just decided to share it for anyone else looking around the forums. Using TES4Edit, I found the Staada NPC (which is supposedly an actual person you can talk to in SI? I don't know why the makers of WarCry made it an Undead/Demon boss with the same name). I discovered the lovely "Referenced By" tab which told me which leveled list is was in. Apparently, it was somehow the leveled list containing boss knights was referenced in 01MiscUndead leveled list. Removed the link, and I think I should be good! The whole process was made harder because I was looking through the lists by hand (as I didn't see a way to find Staada entry INSIDE a leveled list using the filter option). The Referenced By tab saved the day. Woot
