alonsomartinez
Tweaking the color is no problem. I assume you wanted a Welkynd-style blue. If desired, I could remove the surrounding blue so that only the ovals have color. I could even colorize the straps any color you like as well. Let me know what other changes you'd like made based on this image (please do not hesitate to ask...if it is not exactly how you want it, I would consider it a wasted effort) http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Oblivion/WIP/Kodachi4.jpg Renders at various angles so you have a better feel for it: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Oblivion/WIP/Kodachi-Render1.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee11/Conan_Lon/Oblivion/WIP/Kodachi-Render2.jpg I was careful to maintain the UV map so that it could utilize any Akaviri re-texture currently available on the Nexus. Kyuukei
Yup. Nailed it again, haha. For the record, please don't put them in the usual spot in the Market District; mods there tend to make my game destabilize after a while for some reason. As for stats, here's an enchant list if you're up for that: Mainhand: Damage slightly better than Daedric Shortsword, swing speed a bit faster than normal shortsword, whatever you feel is appropiate for range based on blade length and stuff. Realistic weight. Absorb Health, Fatigue, Magicka 10pts each on strike. Instant effect (because those glowy red line things for non-instant absorb effects bug the hell out of me sometimes). Fortify Blade 10pts Active Effect, if possible. I always liked that effect on Sword of the Crusader. Sufficient charge for around 100 hits or so. I would also, ideally, like it to be impervious to disarm effects because it is really annoying when that happens on a hill or something >.< Offhand: Light Armour, a bit better overall than a Glass Shield. Same weight as mainhand. Fortify Strength, Intelligence, and Willpower 10pts each. Reflect Damage 10pts. Shield 10pts. Constant effect Restore Health, Fatigue, Magicka 1pt each. Equivalent Fortify Block 10pts ability. If they end up a bit unbalancing, I'll probably just crank up the difficulty again. Tends to work >.> Thanks very much in any case. The weapon looks *awesome* Edited February 3, 2011 by Kyuukei
LHammonds
Are you saying that your Market District is already unstable? Because the way I add items to vendors is 100% compatible with Oblivion and other mods. The only problem you may face is if your vendor is already dead. I wrote a tutorial on how to add items for sale that allows mods to be compatible with each other which has worked flawlessly. As for the enchants and stats, sure, I'll go ahead and see what I can do. However, I've been too busy since yesterday to do anything. Had a network storage system flake out and I'm upgrading firmware all over the place to keep it from happening again. I have to stay late tonight again to finish the maintenance. I then have to do the same thing at our offsite location. So basically, it may be a few days before I get some time on my home PC to finish this. Amazing LHammondsNot really. But thanks for the kind words. This is entirely the work of Bethesda...their Akaviri longsword. I just molded it to fit what the OP wanted which is pretty-easy as far as modeling goes. Textures are again Bethesda's work, I just multi-layered it to apply different color and blending effects...again, no artistic painting what-so-ever. Stock modifications is all. However, I do have the strong urge to re-create the blade to remove topology artifact issues. If I do, I'll be sure to make the UV fit the original texture to keep compatibility high for other akaviri re-textures. LHammonds
Kyuukei
Oh, no, not what I meant. By 'usual spot' I meant the tendency a lot of people seem to have of placing items by one of the Market District statues. I haven't worked out why yet, but stuff placed there made the MD destabilize on my last install of the game. A bit odd. Either way, if you're adding them to a vendor, it should be completely fine. No problems with waiting a bit for it or anything; s*** happens and all that. Thank you again for taking it up - it looks quite nice.
Deleted1848331User
I like the coloring on the sword! Very nice retexture LHammonds...
LHammonds
I think I need to make a video tutorial on how to do such recolors with Paint.NET. You guys would be surprised at how easy it is. If I had access to the source texture, I'd upload it for everyone to see how the layers are done but alas, I am still at work upgrading firmwares....looks like it is going to be an all-nighter. Deleted1848331User
You should do one for GIMP as well :whistling: Anyways, I do have a question... Are you going to make a set of these, (like various lengths and colors) or is it just going to be the one you have made? Also, upgrading firmwares?
LHammonds
I don't use GIMP that much so no tuts from me in that area. *shrug* It will just be the Kodachi and off-hand version...maybe an upside-down off-hand version if the OP wants it. OFFTOPIC - Firmware rant...warning...nerd speak ahead Yes, I have a few IBM (International Business Machines) BladeCenters with FiberChannel connections to a few IBM Storage racks of SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) hard drives. I had to upgrade the firmware (microcode / BIOS) on the controllers first, then the expansion shelves. Once those were done, I then upgraded the firmware on each individual hard drive...making sure the firmware match the hard drive make/model. Last is the firmware upgrade of the HBA (Host Bus Adapter) and then it turn everything off, unplug all cables and re-seat (pull out, plug back in) all modules bays, plug everything back in and bring it all back online. I couldn't figure out how to properly upgrade the HBA's so I'm just bringing all the blades and virtual machines back online. I might even consider upgrading the ESX Linux servers and vSphere VMware if there are any significant fixes from the version I'm running right now since I have everything offline. Then again, to upgrade VMware, I might have to re-build my vCenter OS which is currently Win2003 32-bit and upgrade it to Win2008 64-bit so it will support the new version. That's a lot to do in one night and a LOT of things can go wrong so I'll probably hold off on the vmware stuff for the next maintenance window. :D I did warn you about the nerd speak :geek: EDIT #1: Yep, 4:30am and I just finished the last step of rebuilding a failing drive (4 hrs just for that). Now to spend the next hour powering on all systems and making sure everything is squeaky clean. EDIT #2: Well, it is 5:55am and I am finished...only to step outside and find tons of white stuff all over the ground. Not sure what it is but probably won't be very safe to drive a Trans AM with fat tires on it. Dang the luck. Wanna go home but can't. /OFFTOPIC LHammonds
LHammonds
Well, the blade was bugging me with some oddities where it looked jagged. I tried fixing the tangent space and whatnot but could not make the problem areas go away so I re-created the blade. I made sure the UV's still fit the original texture so other akaviri re-textures could be utilized. I am packaging up the mod now and preparing the mod page. It should be done within the hour. EDIT: Done. Here is the link http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/36995-1-1296956827.jpg LHammonds
