Zantarulez
I can play for about 5 minutes then the keyboard and mouse stops responding. I can close down the game with ctrl+alt+del/alt+tab.I run it on a pc with windows 7 and I have installed the unofficial patch mod, but the freezes happened before that too. reyk556
Are there any more fixes out there for this? I have tried all that was suggested in the aforementioned link. This is really annoying as I have spent the last two days trying to fix it while thinking it was a direct result of my mod combinations. I have reinstalled this game about 4 times and I need my Fallout 3 fix! Computer gods hear me!
Cronophobic
Bumping this thread as I have the exact same issue. I'm running Windows 10 and it's terrifying that the game just continues as normal but you lose the ability to fight back because your mouse and keyboard stop working. It's as if someone snuck behind my computer while playing the game and unpugged my mouse and keyboard. The game continues to run just fine, and the raiders continue to kill me. I've done the K-Lite audio codex fixes, increasing the audio buffer sizes in the ini, I've tried all the fixes in the above link (http://forums.bethso...dows-78-and-xp/) and after every fix, while the fixes were in place, tried running only vanilla (no mods) and it still does the same thing. Please help!
Cronophobic
Well this seems to have worked for me. I found this link a day after my last post and have not had the issue of keyboard and mouse disconnecting. http://www.codecguide.com/windows_media_codecs.htm it seems when you have the correct codec's installed, the game engine works much better :)
