Povuholo
I take it your playing on the PC? By default, you can move objects by holding the Z key. It's not very easy to place things exactly the way you want though. But practice makes perfect! ;)

DoohikyIn addition to the Z key, you can also hold Y or X while dragging the object with the mouse. Z (plus the mouse) moves it up and down only, X and Y move it back and forwards, side to side, respectively. Once you have an object over a surface or plane (such as a floor or table), press F to make it fall to that plane.

He was asking to place objects while playing I think. ;) Or the thread is in the wrong place  Did you know you can also hold ctrl+alt while moving items in the Construction Set to be able to drag it the way you do while playing? Might be useful for positioning corpses. :)
