knightofyourlife
Hi all, I have just started to use better city's. super mod. Runs smooth (very smooth) I only have one problem, when ever I try to enter the IC Waterfront via a door or other teleport method, Oblivion crashes. I have to walk to the waterfront. If I have been playing a wile the crashes seem to stop, well at least not happen as often. at least I think so because obviously I walk there most of the time. I can tell you what is not causing it just so not to waste any ones time, It is not a hardware problem, this is a new PC., It is not a bad install, Better Citys has one of the best self installs I have ever seen. I do not think it is a mod conflicion because I do not have any other mods in the waterfront apart from the goddess store.I do not think it is load order because I have the most up to date boss. Thankyoufor you time Knightofyourlife Edited January 26, 2011 by knightofyourlife
Nadimos
That is a famous point for me to crash in my game, too. But it is not everytime like you say, tho often enough. I am thinking maybe this is a big save problem, try with a diffrent one or travel a diffrent route, then try to pass through again. Sometimes that tends to fix it... for a while anyway. InAComaDial999
Sounds like it could be a corrupt spawn point. If you know for sure that BC:W is the cause (that is, it only ever happens in areas BC:W changes, when you enter those areas) then do the following: - deactivate BC:W- start up your game and load your save- go into an interior cell far away from any areas that BC:W touches, like a guild in another city.- wait (T key) for 24 hours, five times. This will cause all cells to be reset.- save your game in a new save- quit Oblivion, activate BC:W- load your save, try causing the crash again If the problem is due to a corrupt spawn point, this should fix the problem. Of course there are other ways mods can cause crashes, but this is pretty common.

Hickory
I do not think it is a mod conflicion because I do not have any other mods in the waterfront apart from the goddess store. Is the Apachi Godess store compatible with BC? Never mind, apparently so.
knightofyourlife
I still have this problem, but because all Door/teleports that go to the water front are unstable with BC switched on, may be I should try swithing just the waterfront part of better citys off,?I had better waterfront market before better citys and had to swich better water front market off because most of it is in better citys and it conflcts with BC. may be I could swich the waterfront part of better citys off and make up for its loss with better water front market. What do you lot think? Can I just remove the waterfront part off BC? Hickory
Well, it's hard for anybody to give you concrete advice, since your load list and BOSS/Bashed Patch status are all unknown. It seems to me that it's better to get to the bottom of it. To that end, a load list taken from Wrye Bash (including spoiler / code tags) will allow a greater probability of somebody being able to help you. It seems to me that it's better to get to the bottom of it. To that end, a load list taken from Wrye Bash (including spoiler / code tags) will allow a greater probability of somebody being able to help you. I have had lots of small problems with oblivion, The same as every one else. Each time I have a problem I try and fix the issue my self. I would say 50% of the time I fix what is wrong with in an hour on my own with out loggin on to the net.If I don't, Then I come here and ask. some times just a quick chat leads me to the answer, (as in this case.) But most of the time I am given the right answer straight away or at the very least with in one day and the only person who has ever asked me for my load order/bashed patch data is you Hickory. So your statement that "it's hard for anybody to give you concrete advice" is inaccurate. Please change this to "it's hard for me to give you concrete advice", But thank you for any help you have tryed to give me, It is much appreciated. The Issue is now fixed %100 at a cost of a few ships, a few cranes and a bit of clutter. Unfortunately you gain a lot more esp's (I will think about merging them my self later.)The WaterfrontMarketV2 that I am using instead of the IC waterfront part of BC is not that far behind it, So all in all I am now Happy :) I hope this info helps you Nadimos, Just reinstall BC but pick the don't merge option in OMOD, and select all the esp's with the exception of the IC waterfront esp, and then use WaterfrontMarketV2 instead http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22834 Thankyou for your time Knightofyourlife
