Yeah, in the F3 forums, we discussed this once.

 

We wanted to do a Gravity Gun and a Portal Gun.

 

With the Gravity Gun, it could just be an extended and more powerful grab function.

 

For the Portal Gun..... maybe, you spawn temporary doors? I don't know, but the physics just aren't as good as the Source Engine.

Just thinking about how to script this is giving me a headache. Ummm. I have no idea to be honest. Possibly placeable teleportation devices which send you to the other teleportaion device might be possible. Buggy as hell but might be possible. Remember that doors all have a special marker that looks like this | |> which basically shows where player will be after teleporting through a door/portal etc. If its half below ground then your character will be half below ground. Making it automatically place somewhere from a static object is basically impossible
