Modding with Non-steam version?

Recommended Posts

Thinking of getting the game today, would like to mod it like I did with Skyrim, so here comes what is likely a dumb question, but I wanted to ask it just in case there was some little detail I was unaware of - I can buy a physical copy of the game and still mod it correct? I just really don't like STEAM, and I want to start moving away from it and just have physical back ups, keeps saves of patches, etc.

Thanks!

Yes, you can mod any version of the game. You simply need to download quickbms and mess around with xml files.

You can find a small tutorial on modding the xml files here: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/14

Just a note: There's also the option of buying from GOG.com, which would allow you the safety net of having a digital version without messing around with Steam.
