roboroller
Hey all, as the title says, I'm trying to figure this out. I'm fairly new to the mod scene and have been adding a bunch of mods to New Vegas to enhance my experience. So far it's gone really well and I haven't had any problems. I just installed EARACHE42's MO BETA weapons replacer and am very impressed with it. Along with some of the stuff he has there is the "Mo'Suite" which I would also like to use, if only to grab the guns in the armory, but he says in the readme that it "requires Lings Coiffure and a type 3 compatible body". I can kind of understand how to go about the Lings Coiffure stuff but the Type 3 body stuff has me a bit confused. Now, I've seen stuff for "Type3 this and that" all around the nexus, but haven't paid much attention to it yet. It's a bit confusing to me as to what it does, where I'm suppoed to get it, and how it affects the game? I'm under the impression that I can only use Type 3 compatible clothing and armors with a type 3 compatible body? I have a pretty nice outfit that I like so I'd hate to give that up...but...anyway I searched around a bit for some information on this, but couldn't find anything concrete and direct. Could anyone fill me in on the skinny here?
Fumofumo
Type 3 is simply just another body replacer for women. It has higher details and what not. Sort of like HGEC for Oblivion. The male variant would be like Robert's Male Body replacer. There are a lot of Variants of the Type 3 body, like SKINNY or Type V, etc. Just pick one you like or don't pick one at all. The only real problem you'll get without them when using equipment that requires them are really oddly displaced textures.
Brigand231
I gave a fairly simple answer when you asked in the Mo forum. To get started finding some, search for "Body Replacer" and the search will turn up a few, though not necessarily some of the "better" ones (I only say that because I haven't looked into them, they may actually be the best). Mo Suite "requires" a type 3 body because the people that populate it wear type 3 clothes. If you don't mind the possibility of them looking funny then nothing's stopping you from trying it - There is no required master file since there are so many different type 3's available. There are a few ways to solve your "problem" if you want to pursue them. You could simply install a replacer and change your character to a non-replaced race, you could look for a type 3 version of the outfit you like, or you might be lucky in that your outfit would work with type 3 as is. Of course, now I'm curious, what outfit is it that you like so much? :)

The outfit I'm using is this one http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37526 along with some odds and ends from Satchels and Tailor Maid. As I'm playing a male character, I don't suppose the type 3 stuff would effect me anyway would it? http://i.imgur.com/NSqcP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vvB1b.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lEpco.jpg Edited January 30, 2011 by roboroller
Brigand231
Nope, you're perfectly safe! I have Cass wearing the Gunslinger outfit right now and she's the Mo'Gals version sporting a type 3 body. Basic "clothing" is usually pretty safe for type 3 - using a male replacer like Breeze or is it Robert's can be tricky. With male body replacers you tend to get faint, light blue streaks on the right forearm and sometimes other places. For those body types, they include modified replacers for most vanilla clothing too and you can sometimes find versions of mods for them. I think the gentleman that put up and maintains one of them (sorry, I have trouble keeping them straight!) has gone so far as to volunteer to modify just about any clothing mod that gets 10+ endorsements in his spare time, but the request really should come from the clothing's author so if they don't want a version for alternate male body types available it isn't likely to happen. Enjoy!
