Aragorn58
How do I change a master file back to a plugin file? Assuming I no longer have the .esp file. You can load your .esm in Tes5Edit and load only your file. After it finishes loading, open the file tree, and click File Header. On the right pane, click Record Flags then right click ESM in the adjacent pane and select edit. A warning window will open click YES. Another window will open and untick ESM. Click OK. The ESM flag will be removed. Close all windows and when asked to backup your file click Yes. Go into your Data folder and change the file extension of your ESM to ESP and you should be good to go. If after you make any changes to the file and you want to change it back to an esm, just do the same thing except tick the ESM flag. JUST TO BE SAFE, make a backup of your esm and put it in a safe place just in case.
MotoSxorpio
Wrye Bash has esp to esm and copy esm to esp features. Trustworthy.

Dallanolar
So I unfortunately and incorrectly converted my mod from .esp to .esm form. Doing this wiped all of my data apprently. Using Wrye Bash and converting it back to .esp has done nothing. Is there anything else I can do?
ShadowSought
And you got no answers because no user can say something without being at least a bit offensive. Yes, there is something you can do. Now that you already did it once you can rinse and repeat, remake the esp. Hard lesson to learn indeed but in modding Morrowind there is no Auto-Backup. You ALWAYS back up your work before sensitive operations. Learn this lesson, move on, remake the mod or make another. You got time unless you have terminal cancer; plus, modding morrowind is enjoyable. Grab a coffee and some sandwiches, put on some music, roll up your virtual sleves and get to work.
