Quality Mods

Ok, so when I get a new computer around the beginning of summer, I will probably get this game around that time. (I have like 3GB on my current) So I was wondering what mods, including the adult mods, make for the best gameplay. I saw a few "better sex scene" mods, and I know that it might be left up to opinion but which is best? Also, I tend to be into gameplay overhaul mods moreso than like a new outfit or weapon. I hate to be demanding but I have not clue what I'm doing on the Nexus. One thing to note, is that I am going to be male and will probably choose Morrigan if I choose anyone.

Welcome, Raella!

I presume that you're new to the Dragon Age side, at least, since you say you're "going to get this game." :turned:

Let me say that many of us would recommend that you complete your first playthrough totally UNMODDED. Dragon Age is fantastic right out-of-the-box. After your first time through you'll have a much better idea of the kinds of changes you'd like to see, and will be better able to appreciate things that the mods you decide to use are doing to enhance your experience. (If you've already been through the game on a PS3 or XBox, then... never mind. )

That said, there are several different ways to consider what a "quality mod" might be. While the lists are a little dated now, here are several perspectives on that topic, (mine is the third post down): "Good Mods - Opinions".

Happy (Modded) Gaming!

Haha, thanks. I'm mostly looking for gameplay fixes and things that smooth out the game itself. I don't need a lightsaber or to have Sauron as a companion, just things to enhance upon gameplay features like more shapeshifting crap etc. Things that add cutcontent is great too. But yeah, that thread doesn't detail the best adult mods. Anyone know some good stuff?

Better Sex Cutscenes

Morrigan is all hot and stuff

Another thing I'm wondering, what are the best hair mods and stuff? I see like "More Hair" pack and "Something Cosmetics" etc. I get that it is user choice, but what do you all recommend? Any good mods that don't conflict or work as a good set? And which bodymods (adult) are best, as I am overwhelmed with the options. In the Fallout Nexus's, its pretty obvious Type 3 is best choice but I don't know the area too much here.

"Good" or "Better" are so subjective that there is no way to provide anything other than lost and lots of "I Like This / Don't Like That" individual responses. (F'instance, I personally abhore one of the most popular hairstyles for Morrigan facemorphs! )

Check out the "Most Endorsed" (Adult, and Non-Adult) listings in the Files section to see what large numbers of players think.

Well, what I am concerned about is gettng like hair mods that conflict. Like the Pinnapple Vibrant Colours and More Hair Pack. I saw tons of kinds of mods but I have no clue what will work and what won't. Basically for the top 100 Face and Hair mods, 2, 3, and 4. I'm just concerned really haha.

To get multiple mods that affect the Character Creator ("making a new PC") phase of the game working nicely together, read the wiki article here: "Using DA Mods for Dummies".

Basically, you just need to make sure that all the appropriate entries are in the one "chargenmorphcfg.xml" file that the game can use. Terra_Ex's "Compiler" utility program makes that easy.

After you have configured and compiled mods for your Character Creator (including Dracomi's "True Textures") you might want to consider the "Dragon Age Mod Manager" (DAMM), "Natural Bodies All In One" and "Nude Variety", all of which serve to... um... flesh out the Dragon Age experience and add considerably to immersion. There are also several mods which restore, correct or otherwise refine the character's dialogue. Best thing to do is to use the "Browse" option and explore the available mods by category. Be sure to read all comments which should explain or highlight any conflict.

oh.... don't forget to expand inventory but research any added "camp merchants" for compatibility. There are also several fine castles, keeps and homes which offer increased storage as well as other accomodations.

Cheers

Don't forget, too:

If/when you find a merchant that allows you to expand your inventory capacity - they usually restock at some point. It's worth checking them out again... ;)
