Braclo Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Greetings, Basically what the description says, what format do you prefer a readme or walk through to be in. I have set up a poll so that you can easily vote :D -Braclo
alonsomartinez Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) .txt . .doc and .pdf are programs that people may not have , as opposed to Notepad , which every user has if they are running Windows Edited January 31, 2011 by alonsomartinez

alonsomartinez Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) Sorry if my post was unclear :D I meant that my choice was .txt :P I should have spaced it out. What I meant is that some people dont have Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader so they cant open .pdf or .doc files , but if you are running windows , it comes Preinstalled with Notepad , which you can use to make/open .txt files Edit : And of course editing my post messed it all up. SavageArtistry Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Personally I prefer .txt or .htm/.html just because the .pdf and .doc programs are slightly more annoying to open.
chaospearl Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Agreed, I vastly prefer txt. Second choice is html format, which can be nice if it's the readme for something hugely complicated that benefits from having easily-readable large headings for each section and bright colors for important information. I absolutely hate PDF. The reader is aggravating and it's a lot harder to skim through the text when you're looking for a specific part. And I really don't need yet another program open in my taskbar.
Luminiari Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I personally prefer html but that's because, when formatted properly, it makes finding information easier. Alas, not everyone knows how to set anchor tags... but it can make it easier to translate into different languages... sort of... Otherwise txt is nice, simple and universal, and nobody with an Oblivion install will be unable to access them... unless they're in different languages...
