hurrdurrmurrgurr
I installed a load of files and created a merged patch for them, this gave them the "WARNING: This plugin has the file extension .esp, but its file header marks it as an esm!" message and bolded them. Unfortunately after deleting the patch I've tried to add more mods and get them to fit in the right load order but they won't fit between the original set since the originals now consider themselves esm files and bump the new esp's back down. So how do I set all of those files back to just being esp's so I can shove a few more mods between them? Also what is the limit on the number of mods the game can take? I've heard it's between 80 and 154 while I have about 400. I've heard that wrye flash can merge esps together to get the count down without deleting half of them but I have no idea how to use wrye flash what so ever. How would I go about merging the files together and more importantly how do I make sure I'm not about to merge a bunch of incompatible files, or split them back up again if I screw up? Attached is my big list of mods where the currently active mods are the ones which are esms or are esps with the "WARNING: This plugin has the file extension .esp, but its file header marks it as an esm!" message. Nadimos
You can almost certainly merge all your item mods such as armor, cloth and weapons safely. The program of choice to use for this simple operation is TESNIP, just rightclick your .esp in the fomod manager and open with, but read the manual, too! Dont copy any world, cell or container records over with it or it will mess things up for you. Have fun!
