aaroncox
I'm starting this thread to cover many different questions pertaining to the game Skyrim. For example, horses will be used again as mount travel, but will there be any other animals that will also be used for traveling? lizards for the reptile race,? etc? Will you be able to fish in the new game? since fish literally jump out of the water? (could elder scrolls production team add that to another daily town activity near water?) i.e the harbor town of solitude. Will time advance relatively the same speed as the last oblivion game? or slower to signify more realistic time frames? How realistic will the fighting scenes surrounding being injured or cut? i know some spells leave effects on their enemies (i.e) frost etc, will you see cut wounds or severed heads? or bleeding wounds. i know there was a mod for that in the last oblivion game , more blood. They say that distant landscapes are much more detailed this game, so can they give a picture of how detailed they're talking about? so we have a general idea of what they mean. Snow will not accumulate from my understanding, but will mods be made to fix this possibly? Can children be injured? talk to you without having direct quests.. Can you get married ? like fable, find a girl..or guy.. What will the diverse weather patterns be? water moves in currents, what about lakes? giant water falls perhaps? maybe the water could affect the characters hair or change the sound in how they walk with water in their boots. just simple questions, if anyone has anymore please feel free to share.. the more ideas the better =) and maybe Todd Howard or anyone else that is working on the game might include one or some of these thoughts which would add to the realism of the game. thanks

InuyashaFE
that whould be cool if they made it ur character can get married No offense to you, you're entitled to your opinion, but I think it'd be stupid and limiting, what would be the point? I mean, gameplay wise. Okay, you get married, now you have this NPC walking around your house that's just for looks and a few snippets of dialogue? Well I think what they mean is that all the dungeons and towns are part of the distant LOD, which is different from Oblivion where only the major cities were part of the lod, meaning you should be able to see all or most of the dungeons and towns from far away.If you look at the demo at the start you can clearly see that Bleak Falls Barrow dungeon waaay off into the distance, and that's just a dungeon that has a sidequest in it.I'm not quite sure how they accomplish that without huge amounts of lag though, if you tried that in Oblivion your computer would slow to a crawl, maybe it's just a better engine, who knows? Normally, I'd have no problem with any OPTIONAL feature in the game, but there are so many unconfirmed features that I'm waiting on, and I would rather them spend time on those instead of romance. I think instead of a wife, it would be nicer if you could have a pupil or two. Say after you become some famous master of the world or whatever. Maybe you can open a school and get income that way and go do training classes, spar, or take your pupils out for small quests or something. Then maybe they can graduate and you can choose between them to be sidekicks or whatnot.

That'd basically be like Assassin's creed brotherhood
aaroncox
i believe companions have already been confirmed, and they were such a big hit in fallout i doubt bethesda would alter that in any way.
