Idea for receiver like mod

Anyone knows the game called Receiver? http://www.wolfire.com/receiver

 

In this simples game, you have almost full control of the gun mechanisms (demo at 0:27):

 

 

 

 

Question is: Do you guys think it's possible to make something like this on FNV? Like controlling the guns parts, manually reload a magazine, etc?

 

The steps I think need to be done:

 

  1. Bind keys to each action
    • Lke take out magazine, insert round, re-insert magazine, pull the slide
    • Each gun might work diferent, I don't know in which ways yet,
  2. Isolate the many animations that FNV has (I don't know if this is possible)
    • Since people creates new weapons, I think it's at least possible to make new charater animations
    • In FNV, when a gun is at very low condition, sometimes it hangs and the character re do some animations (to reload, re insert magazines, etc), so I think it's possible to have isolated animations
  3. Script (??) the effects of every action
  • Disablig auto reload
  • Make a round spawn if you pull the slide with a round in the chamber

I think it would be not so hard, but add depth to gun simulation.

I like the idea of this - would add another (arguably overkill) element of immersion that would be really cool to try.

 

I'm in no way experienced in scripting, so I can't really offer anything but support for this concept.
