REQUIEM: Random CTDs caused by "REQ_AttackStaminaDrain.psc"

I've spent the last few days perfecting my admittedly large load order, and I nearly have Skyrim working flawlessly. There's just one persistent issue I can't get rid of despite all my efforts, and after days of vigorous play-testing and scouring papyrus logs, I decided its time to admit defeat and turn to the Nexus for help.

THE PROBLEM:

When running around the Skyrim world, the game CTD's after a minute or so of playtime. This occurs on every new save I create. After taking a look at the papyrus log, I see the last script to run before the crash is a script from Requiem - A Roleplaying Overhaul called "REQ_AttackStaminaDrain.psc" (full papyrus log at bottom of post). I've ran Skyrim many times and consistently this error is the last to run before CTDing. The crash occurs regardless of whether or not I'm attacking or doing anything that would be related to stamina draining. Removing the requiem mod fixes the CTDs of course, but I just can't give that mod up.

WHAT I'VE TRIED:

-redownloading and reinstalling Requiem

-Reinstalling Skyrim (after deleting all files manually and running the uninstaller)

-locating the REQ_AttackStaminaDrain.psc file and replacing it with one from another download of Requiem

-running Skyrim with only Requiem and no other mods

-reverting to default .ini settings

-verifying integrety of the game cache (after clearing the appcache for good measure)

-playing with the load order

-scouring the internet for fixes

-using stablity-improving mods such as Safety Load and ENBoost

-rerunning Reqtificator to create a new "Requiem for the Indifferent.esp" patch

-checked memory/RAM usage and I'm nowhere near the limit

-checked computer temperatures and everything is nice and cool

-updated drivers/Windows just in case

Needless to say, I've had no success with any of these

WHAT I USE:

Mods

(Full Load Order at bottom of post)

- I run 206 mods and an ENB, sorted with LOOT (then manually adjusted) and managed with Mod Organizer. I use the Requiem for the Indifferent patch instead of a Bashed Patch as per the new 1.9 instructions for requiem

-running newest SKSE (not beta)

-Requiem is updated to the new 1.9 release

-all mods freshly installed and up-to-date

-I'm aware 206 mods can lead to sketchy stability, but I've modded Skyrim many, many times with similarly large load orders and gotten them to work. I've also elimated nearly all issues with this setup aside from this one bug

PC Specs

(Just in case someone asks, though I doubt it's related)

-Intel i7 3.60GHz

-16GB RAM

-64bit Win7

-GTX 970 Graphics Card

FINAL WORDS:

Skyrim runs fine and error-free without Requiem, and I'm certain it's this one script that's causing the CTDs. I've been pouring over this for ages and I would love to hear your suggestions. I'm at a complete loss, and I'm so close to a stable Skyrim!

Thanks for reading!

Load Order (sorry for the size, it wouldn't let me attach files)

Can you deliberately induce the CTD with reliability? Does it always end with that bit of script log? The script logger cannot record the cause of a CTD, as it crashes at the same time as the rest of the game engine. It can offer clues if it's always having the tail end of the log being largely the same after each crash, but nothing definitive.

Yes, it's 100% reproducible. After every CTD that specific script is the last in the log. &I didnt know about that bit of info, thanks. Might explain why I've had no luck fixing this

  • 10 months later...

First, I'm sorry about my bad English. I'm not native.

I have exactly same problem w/ you.

I know that the papyrus script error at the end of log has no high relationship with the main culprit cause CTD.

But everytime I experience CTD, there is always REQ_AttackStaminaDrain at the end of the papyrus log.

I do everything what I can do to solve this problem. But I could not fix it.

Surely, w/o Requiem. I can play whole day w/o any CTD.

One thing I'm very surprised is there is not much people who report this problem. I don't know why.

This makes me really annoying. If there is anyone who found the solution, plz let us know.
