NorViz Posted February 1, 2011 Share Posted February 1, 2011 When I returned to playing Fallout NV yesterday it somehow struck me that the effects of dehydration, hunger and sleep depreviation have no real impact on your gaming experience. Of course, your stats are reduced and if you don't drink, eat or sleep you will die, eventually. But if it wasn't for the short notices on the HUD you might not be aware of your condition before it's too late. So basically my idea is this: Assing appropriate effects to the different stages of the afforementioned diseases, here are a few examples: Sleep depriviation If your sleep depreviation counter is beyond 600, why not add the blurry vision effect similar to the effect assigned to a crippled head. This way, you will definitely be aware that something isn't alright withougt needing the HUD. Hunger Add the shaking arms effect (from the crippled arms) that makes it harder to aim. Hunger makes you weaker. Thirst I think a (weakened) combination of the two effects above might work. Reducing movement speed (noteably) could work, too. I would do this myself if I had any idea how to make this work with the GECK. Unfortunately, my ablities in this direction are very limited. :ohmy: This is why I thought to put this idea out here. Edit: I just took a look at Arwens Tweaks. I don't think it really suits me: for my taste to many other tweaks are in this mod. That said, it's not like I expect someone to create a plugin just for me. But if someone thinks there might be a general interest for this idea that would be great. ioshilee Posted February 2, 2011 Share Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) You can try Imp's More Complex Needs http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37254 - its a real Hardcore mode :) And negative effects affect your body parts, f.e. from food poisoning you'll get your torso crippled, and doctor's bag won't help you - you'll only temporary remove the wound. The sicknesses are only cured by a professional doctor. This mod works great in combination with Ambient Temperature mod.
