Deleted1848331User
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8672/thespartanprojectv2.pngA continuation of the work of Brandon98 and his team's The Spartan Project If you think it is not a TES lore following mod, then go somewhere else. I could care less about you lore trolls out there. You know who you are :ninja: Team:LordFrostcraig - Team lead, scripter, land mass creator, CS work, some modellingGreatLucifer - Lead Scripter and Quest writerGenzel - Lead Modellerjjnorris - Lead Texturer, voice actorHellsMaster - Story writerAllanOcelot - Modeller Our TwitterEmail: [email protected] http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/5993/thespartanprojectv2desc.pngThis mod, in BETA, aims to let you play through a somewhat large world, with Spartans patrolling the world, peacekeepers of the land. The Covenent, however, will find them. They will do anything to exterminate the human race. Team Members still needed! TexturersVoice ActorsStory WritersModellersand finally, scripters (I'm not perfect at it :P) The story begins with a mysterious ship landing near Anvil. They say some kind of "aliens" are coming out of it. Aliens with mysterious weapons. You, a brave adventurer, decide to board the ship, and see what is at the core. The adventure starts from there.... Basically, a Covenent Phantom lands near Anvil. Elites, Brutes, Grunts, and Jackals come out and use plasma pistols, plasma rifles, etc. The guns really will just shoot a "poison" effect shaded spell, so I will need someone to figure that out unless it has to be a staff. It would be a script effect like Midas Magic, since you can't add new spell effects to the game. The energy swords will kill you very quickly if you are the player ;D IF you manage to make it to a special character, and get your own Spartan armor, then you can combat the Covenent without too much worry. Plasma stings :P You will have an energy shield just like in the games when wearing your armor, but it will draw from your magicka, which will be set to 150 when worn. It will be set back when you take it off. Every time you take damage, the shield goes down 10 points. Energy swords take down the shield completely. When your shield is down, avoid damage for 5 or so seconds, then it will recharge 5 points a second. If you take more damage while its recharging, it will of course go down again. If your shield is at 0, then you take damage normally. Also, everytime you cast a spell, your shield will go down with that energy. So try not to cast some spells while wearing the suit. (During the questline, you will be forced to wear Spartan armor, and all of your other gear (except Quest items) will be cast into Oblivion. No, just joking. Into a chest in a home you get in the the capital of the new land. You don't get it until the end, so you won't have your gear until then. Spartan armor and a pistol, gun, and melee weapon, or your fists, will be options. The guns will probably be staffs *sigh*) Tell me what you think of the mod idea! Edited February 24, 2011 by Guest
LHammonds
Wouldn't this be better-suited as a New Vegas mod? (no, nothing to do with lore but more with the game engine)
Deleted1848331User
It would. But my graphics card won't work for FO3, so I didn't bother getting New Vegas for my computer. (I don't mean I'm following what it says on the box, I just mean it crashes even with super low graphic settings.) Also, I already started the .esm of it :P I also have the armor for the Spartans already, and they're rigged to Oblivions. (They're in the resources) Edited February 2, 2011 by Guest
Genzel
I made a Halo energy sword and a Tatarus hammer a while back. I made them when I was still learning stuff, but I could clean them up for you if you want. Modeling guns is my hobby, so I might be able to make the various guns from Halo as well. vvk78
Updated Spartan Project resources (including MJOLNIR Mark VI and Mark VII armor, Elite/Brute armor, and Ghost vehicle) were later put up by Brandon98. They are working perfectly - I tried them recently. The Halo Spartan Guards adds the Halo armor to Oblivion guards - haven't tried it yet as I didn't want to risk jinxing the game too much. It is good that the Halo concept is being picked up. Off the top of my head, here are a few thoughts.Grunts are needed. Easy kills, but in a pack they should be able to heavily damage a solo player.Elites and Brutes should be able to use Rally and Chameleon spells. Brutes and Elites usually don't mix (Elites are Covenant Separatists as they were superseded by Brutes in Halo3).Covenant attacks on Spartan players can be similar to the sudden attacks on player, in the Stealth Wars mod.Ghost vehicle doesn't skim over water, it swims. It may need to be modified to use Imp Walk.Mark VII armor is only in white, so retexes are needed if that is going to be standard armor. Mark VI is in many colors already, so forming default squads should be easy using that armor.Maddog's Fantasy mod has the Ghost/Banshee, and it may also be useful for guns/swords and other resources. I also remember that the GunMage mod had Guns that worked like spell-casters using bow-arrow anim. The Halo energy shield and energy sword in Morrowind is better than the version for Oblivion by Brandon98's team. Haven't seen Genzel's variants, hope it doesn't need much of changes.I am very much new to modding, and currently changing to a new job in real life, so I can't say I can dedicate myself to the project, but I can probably contribute with retexes and documentation. Thank you for taking up this initiative! Edited February 6, 2011 by vvk78
Deleted1848331User
Wow, thanks for the information. I didn't know some of that. Especially that fantasy mod, even though I've used it, I only remember there being Chocobos in it. Also, I've been using the updated ones, but I am still using the Mark V. Here's a storyline beginning of Beta 1. You start off in Cyrodiil, as normal. When you reach level 20, you hear rumors of a strange ship near Anvil, with some kind of "alien" races, shooting spells out of things other than staffs. When you go to investigate, you see a swarm of Elites and Grunts, along with some Jackals, and decide to lay low. When they march upon Anvil, you run into their ship and stowaway. A strange gas fills the cargo hold you hide in, and you are knocked out. When you wake up, you decide to run out of the ship. If you are discovered, you have to fight them. But, you'll soon figure out that your human armor is worthless to fight them, along with your weapons. After about 10 seconds, a messagebox will pop up saying so. Then you have to run and try to escape. Sneaking would help there. When you make it off, you find yourself in a new land, and decide first to run as far away from the strange ship you stowed away on. Eventually you'll make it to a UNSC camp, where Master Chief is (cheesy yes.) When you talk to him, you learn the strange creatures are races of aliens who formed into a group called the "Covenent", and that they will do anything to exterminate mankind. He then proceeds to question your strange gear, and tells you it will be worthless in the fight you have ahead of you. Then he says to follwo him, and you follow him into the armory. There, you can choose one set of Mark V armor. Then the main storyline unfolds. Thats just beta one. It will have the whole storyline of that though. When you finish it, Master Chief will thank you for the help, then give you a teleporter similar to the one the Monitor uses in Halo. He says it will warp you back to where you came from, then back to his world. Thats the end of Beta 1. Beta 2 will include the 2nd main storyline, where you get Mark VI armor, then after that Beta 3, where you obtain Mark VII armor. Version 1.0 will include mostly any bug fixes not fixed in the Betas. (Ex. Bugs in Beta 1 not fixed by Beta 2, Bugs not fixed in Beta 1 by Beta 3, etc) There's the little insider bit of the mod for ya :D
jjnorris
I am a graphics designer by hobby/profession, so texturing isn't a problem. I took 2 years of acting classes in high-school (I'm not professionally suitable in this area, but would like to give it a whirl). Let me know if I can be of any assistance. I would like to help out in this modification, it sounds very unique and interesting.

LHammonds
FYI - The images don't seem to be working...something about not allowing "hotlinking" I'd recommend using Photobucket because it is easy to manage albums (sub-folders) and you can direct-link to individual files or simply point people to a photo album and they can browse the entire collection. Example: - Direct Link - Link to my entire Work-In-Progress collection For other image hosting sites along with the advantages and disadvantages, take a look at this list of online hosting sites. You could also use the Nexus ImageShare and tag the image "hidden" to keep it from being seen by the general public and just direct-link what you want to share as well. ;)
