masterchiefex
I just re uploaded my oblivion to my PC after getting my computer back from being fixed. After I re uploaded it and installed disc 2 (I have the game of the year edition) The meshes, sounds, and other original folders were Files and no longer Folders. When I try to install a mod it no longer works I just get that big Yellow Triangle with the ! in it. Can I fix this somehow? or is there a new way to install the mods? I posted a picture of what the Data folder contains Yes there is a Meshes and Texture folder, But I crossed them out because Even though I drag the right files into them They still don't work.. So I put an X through them The circled files are the files that where there before I installed the other disk
LFact
That's completely normal. When Oblivion uses unmodified stock resources(except music, movie and shaders), it loads them from several BSA files, which store almost all resources. If you install mod, make sure to keep its directory structure: .esp/.esm should go to \data, all meshes should go under \data\meshes, all textures should go under \data\textures, and so on. If you got OMOD package or BAIN package, use OBMM or Wrye Bash to install them. Also, do not forget to do Archive Invalidation, though the game can do it if it finds newer resources. The recommended method is BSA redirection(installing dummy BSA, then add its name in Oblivion.ini). To do it, install Archive Invalidation Invalidated or do BSA redirection via Oblivion Mod Manager or Wrye Bash.
Smooth613
As mentioned everything looks perfectly normal, well except one thing. You installed Oblivion to Program Files and are using Windows 7. This will only create problems with mods and mod utilities and cause you many headaches due to UAC. You need to reinstall Oblivion outside of Program Files. A location such as <drive letter>:\Games\Oblivion is common and recommended.
