wrye bash Help needed

Okay, so I downloaded Wrye Bash, installed it - GREAT! No errors. Until i try to run it. the file "wrye bash launcher" does absolutely nothing most of the time, the few times it does do something i see the black console appear for a short time. just long enough for me to read a few letters of the sentence in it. i have very little moding xp. i am really just relying on the help i can find online. i need this program to set up Fcom. i can't stand vanilla Oblivion.

You may have installed it incorrectly, or have incorrect Python libraries. Please follow these instructions:

 

Installing Wrye Bash by Smooth613:

 

 

You need to install v287 then 290 as certain files needed by 290 are in previous archives.

 

 

 

 

Upon reinstalltion you need to ensure you properly install Wrye Bash and the Python Libraries. Proper procedure is as follows.

 

 

 

 

* Go to Control Panel and remove anything with the word Python in it.

 

* Next, uninstall Wrye Bash and delete the Mopy folder. If you used the installer version you should have an uninstaller as well.

 

* After you have removed everything related to Python and Wrye Bash it's time to reinstall, properly.

 

* Install WryePython03a from the Wrye Bash page here on TESNexus

 

* Install Wrye Bash 275 from the Self-Installer

 

* Update to Wrye Bash 287 by overwriting the Oblivion\Mopy folder.

 

* Finally, Update to Wrye Bash 290 by again overwriting the Mopy folder.

 

* Go to your Oblivion Mopy folder and create a shortcut for Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw and send to desktop.

 

* You're done! Double click the shortcut and Wrye Bash should launch and you're good to go.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wrye Bash v291 will be released as a full Self-Installer version and will eliminate many of the above steps. It's currently in BETA and it's working very well, I've had virtually no problems with v291. The full release to the public should happen in the near future so keep your eyes open for it.

Wrye Bash 291 has been released. Use it instead of the multiple version dance that was previously required.

 

However, BEFORE you install Wrye Bash, you must first install Wrye Python 03a.

 

If your oblivion is installed in c:\Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 or Windows Vista - you will have permissions problems with getting Wrye Bash, OBMM, BOSS, and various mods to work. The recommended fix for this is to uninstall your Oblivion and then reinstall it in some other directory - such as c:\games\Oblivion.

To ensure the correct installation of Wrye Bash and it's Python libraries carry out the following:

 

1. Go to Control Panel and remove anything with the word Python in it.

2. Uninstall Wrye Bash ensuring that you delete the \Oblivion\Mopy\ folder. If you used the installer version you should have a Windows uninstaller.

3. Install WryePython03a

4. Install Wrye Bash 291 self-Installer (the archive version can be used if you know what you are doing).

5. In your \Oblivion\Mopy\ folder you will find Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw . Right click on it and send to desktop as a shortcut.
