ahlewis32
I have this question posted over at EA but so far there have been no answers. I just finished a playthrough on hard difficulty and never lowered the difficulty during the game. By rights I should have gotten the Herald achievement since I accomplished this. I didn't. I've never had any trouble with achievements before in any game. My question is this for anyone who might know: Is this achievement tied to the original game as issued in Nov 2014 or does it include DLC? I did not play Jaws of Hakkon in this playthrough. Do I need to load up an old save and do that? I'm playing with mods that affect game play. Specifically Superior Skills Mod, Faster Looting, LL Armor Crafting, LL Crafting Materials, New Influence Table, Remove Armor Class Restrictions, Runes 4 All, High War Table Materials, and Fall Damage Nullified. I also play with some PJ mods. Could the game recognize mods are being used and eliminate a modded game from consideration for achievements? I didn't get any achievements on a modded game before except for the JOH ones. Or is the whole process bugged, and I really did get the achievement but it's not taking? Thanks to any who can help! RelicDuDe
I have no absolute answers for you... only educated guesses based on 30 years of gaming.. I have Herald as well as Inquisitor with no problems... however i only play on nightmare difficulty. You should have gotten Herald, if you completed the game on hard before any of the story DLC came out, or you bought it. I suppose it is possible.. that once you own any of the DLC, or both, you need to complete those as well.. as it is now part of the game. But that's just a guess... which I personally find unlikely.. because it would be unfair to the players.. But It all depends on what Bioware sees as completing the game... if that is only the main storyline.. which would be logical in my eyes... then DLC don't count for getting either the Herald or Inquisitor achievements. Now Cheats are a completely different ballgame. I don't use DAI Mods.. they tend to fook up my game... get me stuck or other bad things happen. I don't blame modders.. they are the best... i blame Bioware for not making it easy to mod the game.. Anyway.. Cheats could very well muck up an achievement. My best bet in your case.. is on exactly that.. Mods screwing it up, as being a cheat.. which they are... some of them anyway. As a test... I could provide you with a Minimalistic save that only requires you to beat Corififish. on nightmare.. without any of your mods activated... The save would be only the Main storyline... no side-quests.. no collections... no love story's, not all partymembers... and without any DLC done... that way we would know... If you would get the achievement.. or not...and prove a lot to be true or untrue... I don't have any warrior save.. because i never play that.. i am way to old to be a warrior... its either Archer or Mage... because with those i can use one of my best assets.. positioning. That's all i can come up with.... without further research.
Thandal
I have all the possible achievements, (at least, all possible before "The Descent", which just finished downloading.) And I got the "Herald" and "Inquisitor" badges before completing all the tasks in JoH, but... I did one PT on "Normal", one on "Hard", and one on "Nightmare". And I accomplished all that with NO mods installed. There are so many variables that are introduced when you add mods that it's hard to say if any of them affect what's getting reported to the EA servers as far as game accomplishments. I know that in DAO, if you enabled the Command Console it prevented your game from reporting progress to the servers, so maybe something like that is happening here? Now that I have a few mods installed, and just got TD, we'll see what happens!
theskymoves
I triggered both the achievements for completing a PT on Hard and Nightmare difficulties with a single, and very heavily modded run, with JoH installed but without playing it. I used a few of the mods mentioned by ahlewis32 (LL Crafting Materials - partial, New Influence Table, Remove Armor Class Restrictions, Runes 4 All, High War Table Materials) but not others (Superior Skills Mod, Faster Looting, LL Armor Crafting, Fall Damage Nullified). *scratches head* Edited August 13, 2015 by theskymoves
