Atlasa
In Oblivion after I played the game for about fifty hours going into someones house and stealing things, while fun, was not profitable in the least. Do you think they will make it both harder and more rewarding to steal things? Will item value and trading actually be significant? I didn't appreciate the fact that selling thing was basically useless. For Skyrim: 1. They need to make the world MUCH more unique. 2. They need to make everything balanced, so that it is actually cool to find a daedric weapon in a super hard to unlock chest (which were non-existent in Oblivion thanks to that "uber coll' skeleton key crap)
Fatalmasterpiece
How do you figure it was useless?? In Oblivion I could make a couple thousand within an hour or two just stealing gold and silver tableware.
AltreU
But that's far less than you could make being a warrior going into a dungeon and farming peoples armor. They did gyp being a rogue. Hopefully they'll make valuables valuable. Thankfully, someone released a mod that changed that.
Genzel
Thieving was quite disappointing in Oblivion, not a single piece of silver silverware was over 5 gold in value. I really hope Bethesda will try to add more value to miscellaneous items for Skyrim.
Fatalmasterpiece
Why would silverware be worth more gold than it would take to make the thing in the first place? It would be cool to see stealing made more interesting but it certainly wasn't broke or anything in Oblivion. I was rich as a fat cat just stealing stuff. I really hope they don't make it like Morrowind. I got my stealth up, broke into the big family vaults and suddenly the rest of the game was a cake walk. Hell I knew exactly where to get a full glass suit of light armor by level 5. Edited February 6, 2011 by Fatalmasterpiece

The only way thieves could really become rich should be by either breaking into some castles vault or maybe stealing a precious and unique item from some sort of cult (like say the Mythic Dawn). DisintergrateHorseArmor
The main thing I'd like to see is the ability to sell things to people other than a theives guild fence. If I steal somthing in Bruma, how does a shopkeep in Anvil know it was stolen!? And dont get me started on the fact that if I was caught stealing the person would telepathicaly call a guard....... I dont mind it, but while roleplaying and going about my bussines, I dont want to kill someone, spending 25 minutes to sneak in, not be seen and suddenly `STOP THEIF,' T..T Ive never really enjoyed the combat side of oblivion as much as I have the roleplaying side. I hope they introduce jobs for us roleplayers or something, if not I will hopefully make a `player jobs mod,'.....thats a whole new topic >.>

AllanOcelot
Yes sir, this also proves a valuble fact everyone. game makers are now giving into our demand for going outside! Long gone are the days where if we wanted to cut down a tree, we would go to a forest with ones axe and start choppin`. No sir, not for me, getting worn out and only gaining wood? No, not my cup of tea. In my virtual world, I can cut down ten(thousand?) trees in the time it takes to fell one in real life. And for this, I thank you Skyrim. Aha, One day I hope my kids complain about how realistic games are, as for now, im happyily wanting more realisem >.,<
