AliaNexis
Hi, When I've got 2 NPCs fighting with bows only, they seem to aim exclusively for the crotch. It's not the skeleton meshes, because it kept happening when I temporary removed them, so I'm not sure why the AI keeps aiming there regardless of the distance between it and the target. Hickory
That has nothing to do with AI, if you are hinting at that from your subject title. It's handled by the game's physics. There are mods available that overhaul archery (can't remember their names offhand), but you may want to look into that.
AliaNexis
I'm back with the same question, only under the most basic of circumstances. I've done the following: -Fresh Oblivion install, patched.-made a mod consisting of 2 factions, and 1 NPC for each faction.-each NPC has a bow and arrows, nothing else, -Marksman set to 80, nothing else changed. Regardless of the gender of the NPCs, when they fight, the always aim their bows at or closely above the crotch. I'm surprised I'm the only one who's said anything about this; it looks really awkward having 10+ arrows sticking out of an NPC's crotch.
David Brasher
When you reinstalled Oblivion, were you able to delete every last one of your mods and all of the files they add? (Such as custom body meshes?) A fresh install of Oblivion will not change anything if mods are editing it or leftover files that didn't get removed are still exerting their influences. Your game is not performing like mine performs. In my game most of the arrows hit a character's chest or back. Quite a few of them end up in the arms. Occasionally one ends up in the head or abdominal area. I think you have mods or mod components causing your game to behave differently.
