DLC purchase question

Is it possible to buy the in-game DLC (or any DLC outside of Awakenings) without signing up with EA? I want some of the add-ons, but don't want to be part of EA's system by giving them my e-mail address for them to spam for eternity. I wish I could just make all my purchases through Steam like with the original game. Edited by arredondo

Short answer is, "No".

But having had a BioWare account for years now, and an EA account since I got DA in the Fall of 2009, I can tell you that I have yet to receive the first piece of spam email from either one.

[Edit: Even with the Ultimate Edition, where everything is already on the discs, you have to sign-in to an EA account ONCE to get the formerly-DLC-only content "authorized". ]

Hmmm, ok I guess I'll sign up then. I'm a good 70% finished with my first play through and I hear that the Stonekeep Prisoner DLC is best played during the main quest, and Leilana is adorable in the game so I want to play her prequel quest at some point. Other than that I don't know if I'll pay for anything else. Edited by arredondo

Ok, I signed up with them and lived to tell the tale. Stonekeep was a pretty quick romp, but I got the new character so that's what you mainly pay for I suppose. I'll have him replace my healer in the party since battles are getting easier as I get a handle on the system. I figure I'll play through Leilana's quest tonight then concentrate on finising the main game. Thanks for the help fellas.

Congrats! But I'm not quite sure what you meant about it being "a pretty quick romp". Do you mean the first part in Honnleath, where you meet Shale, or that PLUS the whole "Cadash Thaig" section? (Not to mention the wonderful banter that Shale adds throughout the rest of the game! )

Whose Cadash? After I got Shale the area was already cleared so I went to camp to regroup and then turned in for the night. Maybe there's more to see next time I check out the world map.

You'll need to complete the "Paragon of Her Kind" main-line quest to get the info about Cadash Thaig! :whistling:

Can anyone give advice on DA DLC? I have only the orig. game and fired it up for the first time in a while in anticipation of DA2....

What DLC, if any, should I get?

I read some reviews about DA:O-A saying it was not as good as the orig. game...

Suggestions?

p.s. Also, what DLC if any, will actually be saved to my file that I import to DA2...?
