aramonbr
So hey everybody. I'm having a hard time with body replacers mod. I just installed oblivion on a friends laptop and I can't make the body replacers work. Although the same mods, dled from the same sites worked just fine on my computer. So I'm guessing it's either the game or the computer. Just to clarify, its a windows vista. the tale started after I installed oblivion on this pc. I installed right after the obmm. Then, I had Female Eye candy body replacer 1.0 by Exnem, the version with undies. I copied the files to the Mods folder into the obmm folder. (C:/progams/bethesda softworks/obmm/mods), Then I run Obmm and activate the mode. it doesnt work. The textures are the same of the original game. So I try dowloading the nude version, guessing the version i had was f***ed up or something, and did the same. Pasted there, deactivated one, activated other and nothing. The game runs just normaly, without any changes on body meshes or texture. I though for some reason i has to start a new game for it to work, makes no sense. but it tried anyway and yet still no changes in the texture. Then I downloaded the Robert female body replacer v12 I found on this very forum, and did the same. And it didnt work. I reinstalled later the game and tried doing it without using obmm, pasting the files on the Data folder. No result whatsoever. The game just run as without change. Then I resintaleed the obmm and also, no change. If someone have a pale idea of what the problem may be, please help me out. Thanks. dunmermaiden
Never ever install Oblivion in program files - It will NEVER let you run mods, in Vista. Also, did you remember to use a bsa patcher? Edited February 8, 2011 by dunmermaiden
aramonbr
Never ever install Oblivion in program files - It will NEVER let you run mods, in Vista. Also, did you remember to use a bsa patcher? Hey, thanks, I'll try to reinstall it in another folder right now. But about BSA patcher, I didnt use it when i installed the mods on my computer, I'm sure what it is. If someone can explain it, please, I'd be thankfull
aramonbr
Okay, just keeping this thread up to date, I now tried to install it at a new folder onD:/Oblivion Yet it still just ignore it. The same problem. No changes. What is also odd is that oblivion still found my save even being in another folder. He say that the save relied on objects no longer presents, but loaded anyway. Why can't i get it to work?
Hickory
Install ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated, BOSS and Wrye Bash (for a Bashed Patch). For Wrye Bash you just need the Wrye Python 03a installer and the WB 291 installer. Once you have installed the invalidator, run BOSS and then build your Bashed Patch. Smooth613
Just a note: There is no reason to install the above mentioned ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated "utility" if you're going to be using Wrye Bash anyway. Wrye Bash has Archive Invalidation of it's own, in the form of BSA Redirection. Which happens to be largely accepted as the best and most preferred method of Invalidation. I'm not knocking the previously linked method, or saying it won't work, I'm only saying there is no need to double up.
Hickory
If you were to change your wording slightly to: "There is no reason to install the above mentioned ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated "utility" if you're going to be using Wrye Bash to install mods", then I would agree with you. Getting people to use ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated is simple; getting people to use BAIN? Not so simple.
Smooth613
You don't have to install mods via BAIN to enable BSA Redirection via Wrye Bash. It is however listed under the installers tab but that doesn't mean it only works with mods installed via BAIN. Click the installers tab once, right click, enable BSA Redirection, you're done. You never have to touch the installers tab again if you so choose. That's like saying if you don't use OMODs then OBMM's version of Invalidation is useless, which we both know is not true. As previously stated, I'm not knocking any of the three options and hell, if you want to use all three have at it. But there is simply no need to double, or triple up, on it.
