Qwaxalot
No I'm saying, I cut, then pasted the bethesda softworks folder into a newly fabricated folder under C:\. I find it hard to believe that cut & paste can move an installed game successfully. What about registry entries? I don't have a Windows 7 machine to play with. But this process will NOT work on Vista. If it does work on Windows 7, I am amazed. I think you must have uninstalled the game and utility programs first, then moved the Bethesda Softworks folder, then reinstalled everything. Please confirm. Or if anyone else reading this thread (with a Windows 7 computer) can confirm that moving an executable updates the registry, I would sure like to hear it!! scrivener07
NO it does not (from my experience). The steam platform and games are the only programs Ive havent had to reinstall after moving but it has to go back to the exact directory it was originally installed to and then use a repair utility. Same for WoW but I think you can put it anywhere.

Well, I did it, and my game still works, and I've been doing this sort of thing since windows 95, so yeah; I think it works. It won't update the registry, but as long as all the folders are together, and I didn't throw them about like a primate with a bundle of tax exams, it will still work.
