dovahkiin187
Hey everybody this is Dovahkiin187 here. Through the years I've noticed a trend in gaming, mmo's some good others horrible and rare but some barrier breaking. Iv'e done my research and Zenimax/Bethesda are that rare some, in fact you should be pleased to know that Zenimax Bethesda's parent company already purchased the domain name of this topic title, And with an engine such as the Hero engine also bought by Zenimax/Bethesda the pieces start to fall in place. SO I'M ASKING: What would you like to see in the elder scrolls online rpg game being made with atleast 100 people working on it? What would you like to see? whalecakes
I don't think you could make an elder scrolls MMO without abandoning most of what the series is known for.The closest thing would be a MUD.
hector530
ZeniMax (owners of beth) are making a MMO, if it is in the elder scrolls world (most likely is) or not are unknown. but this is known a MMO is being made and the team making ISNT todd's team they're busy finishing skyrim and working on fallout 4 source: http://www.zenimax.com/zol_pressrelease08.01.07.htm Edited February 8, 2011 by hector530

They have clearly stated in a court case that they have been working on this since 2007 a "World of warcraft" type game and that game will be using the Hero engine. When they were making fallout 3 they were already planning their next game elder scrolls V: Skyrim. It would be nonsense to think they aren't planningtheir next game as we speak. Imagine, an elder scrolls mmorpg without Todd Howard and Pete Hines.. wouldn't happen and I am positive this is what they are doing.~"A puzzle starts with one peice, sooner or later everything falls into place"~ THNKTSDTHBX IOUIEEO

Yes but say they were, what would you like to see (point and click or realtime or...?stay on topic and "THNKTSDTHBX IOUIEEO" I cannot stress this enough, so many people post without reading what the discussion is about. Remember the warp in the west? That made it so all possibilities that can happen do simultaniously? That's sort of like an mmorpg already, think about it! And look at tera online, mortal online and the capabilities of the Hero engine on their websites!
Genzel
A domain name like "edlerscrollsonline" was bought by zenimax at least a year ago, so something is probably in the works. If an Elder Scrolls MMO is made, I would like to see it be different from any other MMO, more detailed, immersive, and complex. I haven't played many MMOs, but from what I know, they tend to be on the simpler side with a lot of grinding, they shouldn't do that.
bombboy1252
from what i understand they we working on a fallout MMO in the past, they failed at it. But an elderscrolls online would be wicked. it would need an auction house system like World of warcraft and some pvp. and i would be playing it all day. Definitely possible, a website domain name is usually pretty cheap, Bethesda could have easily bought dozens of sites either for future use or just so no one else can use them. I don't really know if I would play an Elder Scrolls MMO, I have had slight addiction related MMO experiences. Don't know if mixing my favourite game franchise and such a potent time stealer would be a good idea for me  Edited February 9, 2011 by Genzel

Thanks for your input, I agree, you should feel more like you and NPC's truly belong in the world and seem real. You shouldn't hack and slash or point and click while you're napping, that's not that immersive and I'm sure Zenimax/Bethesda knows that more than others (game developers). Remember, each time an Elder Scrolls game is shown to the public, people start to re-realize what is possible.
