gahnzz
Okay - first off - that article is 4 years old. Second - it's ZENIMAX that made the MMO company - not Bethesda. Bethesda is a development studio that is owned by Zenimax. The only real connection between the two is that the founders of Bethesda (Christopher Weaver) started Zenimax a few years later. Zenimax owns multiple development studios - including id Software, and Arkane - who is coming out with Dishonoured in 2012. Third - the article states AN MMO. It doesn't say Elder Scrolls. There are numerous properties that Zenimax could launch and never touch TES - like Rage, like Doom, like Bioshock, like Fallout, like Resident Evil, and so on. You don't build up a company on the strength of one product - which allows you to purchase many competitors and strengthen your brand - and then kill the very product that has built your empire. We're seen Weaver, et al. make many smart decisions over the years - and a quick cash grab at a knock-off MMO just to satisfy a given years bottom line is professional and creative suicide. hector530
It's not a matter of continuity, it's the fact that they're taking away the best aspects of the game to fit to popular status quo. well it doesnt play like the main series, also i wouldnt call an mmo the "popular status quo". but whatever lets take bets we meet back here in 2,3..5? years or whenever the hell its shown and we'll see whos right. i bet on elder scrolls mmo. how about you? DyingAtheist
Considering people have gone on the record saying how unlikely an Elder Scrolls MMO is, I'd still bet against it. It quite simply does not fit the style of the games. Regardless.Bethesda did NOT open a MMO studio, which was my initial point, if an Elder Scrolls MMO does come to fruition at some point then it will not be a product of Bethesda's work. James009
Personally, I think making an MMO (or any other broad jump) can be dangerous as it diverts resources, attention, and can hurt the product name should it flop. If they could make an Elder Scrolls MMO with good combat, good roleplay potential, strong non-combat mechanics, and the ability to immerse yourself then MAYBE they should make it. headbomb
Elder Scrolls Online What would you like to see? Well first it would need to be a single-player offline game...
Thoreai
Hell no way...could you stand to see one of your favorite games being destroyed by the typical childish mmo comunity type? Chats spammed with "srs bzns" , "cool story bro" idiots...gold spammers, people insulting eachother nonstop..."Retardo is NINJA!" spammers, kids fighting over who is more "skeeled"...if i immagine this done to TES... We could say it will be a mature mmo...but the mature people are busy with work and dayly things...i think it would be horrible. Also bethesdas policy of tes was always a singleplayer...thats why we never got even a multiplayer...thanks god. Razthemystic
Making TES an MMO is as bad as trying to add multiplayer. You just don't do it.
