SebastianChase
I know this is the NV forum but I saw lot of F4 discussions here, so I thought I'd post a question here that I been wondering about, concerning Fallout 4 mods. Now that the main character is fully voiced, is it going to be really difficult, or just not possible, to create mods that add more side quests or fan made NPCs that we can intereact with? I am hyped as hell over the game and really looked forward to see what kind of mods will be made for it but it recendly occured to me that it could be problematic now that the player will be fully voiced. So, any idea on how F4 mods are going to be with that in mind?
DoctorKaizeld
i doubt it will make it difficult at all. i dont see why we cant just have him not speak.
Tony the Wookie
Two options a) Have the player not speak during the mod b) Have some record voice acting for the player character
charwo
Would a non-speaking character in a mod be so bad?
DoctorKaizeld
Would a non-speaking character in a mod be so bad?considering the number of people who are constantly available to voice act... kinda yes, kinda no. honestly the first mod i hope someone makes is one that removes all the PC dialog. i dont want my character to talk in the Fallout game franchise, i'd play Mass Effect instead. though that's a personal thing and in no way means i think what voice acting i have seen so far is bad. You have to join the future sometime. Were you feel the same way when things switched over from sprite based games to 3d rendered games?

Thaiauxn
A new start mod that removes the player voice entirely would please me. I'm sure Fallout 4 will be just fine voiced for its own story. But quest mods? No. Fallout with a voice, just like KotOR with a voice, is weird and uncomfortable. You can't make an immersive quest mod that constantly reminds the player they're playing a mod. charwo
What I meant is that you can't voice the protagonist with just any voice, they have to sound like the original voice actors. Having the other characters voiced is becoming necessary and even I'm being spoiled by it. But in the case of the protagonist's voice, can't people chalk a voiceless protagonist in a mod as an artistic necessity?
