Tlaffoon
Yeah I won't lie I have a problem lol I keep making it bigger and bigger and bigger  And thanks for the suggestion..now on to my rant :pirate: The one thing I'll clarify is this castle is nothing like say castle grey where the interior is so immense that the castle is useless (no offense meant to the author of Castle Grey of course) but I prefer the intimate feeling and practicality of a smaller castle. That said the castle isn't a maze of halls and buildings its rather as compact as I can make it and it retain the function of a working castle. In other words there aren't any insane functions like a hall the size of sovngarde for trophies nor dragon priest portals. Everything's quite modest in the castle or that's the intent. Its really only composed of 4 buildings; the greathall, keep, kitchen, and guard barracks. The rest are just auxiliary buildings needed to keep a castle running..really the castle looks bigger than it is..which was my utmost intention..not to say the castle isn't big it definitely is.... Regarding this expansion it stems from the two childrens rooms seaming to small (maybe 9x14ft) and to bring balance to the two sides of the castle. So essentially the extra ward would just make the castle look more balanced and make the children's bedrooms bigger. Which is all the extra building does and would be connected to the keep through a covered bridge(no load door)..Id probably make a small garden or something in the new ward as well so its not just a waste of space....i think im done rambling for the moment And If it seems like I'm dismissing your suggestion I'm not :pinch: just waiting for a few more opinions before I take it either way. If you have any other suggestions or some features you think would be nice please say so. Ill probably ramble on for 20 minutes, change my mind twenty times, cry a little and something will happen :D I'm actually quite unsure of how I want to proceed with the castle design as I like the original small castle I started with and the large one.. Tlaffoon
Also I'm looking for an experienced world designer to make the high rock expansion for the mod specifically the area in red. while I work on the things in skyrim. This includes landscaping, lod, and heightmap etc. Or you could simply duplicate the tamriel worldspace.. landscape it and so forth. Roughly id say it should be the size of the reach as I want to keep it small and practical. If your interested let me know. Im also aware that the beyond skyrim project is creating this area as well. And while i'd like to combine our two mods I don't think they would mix that well as mine will involve the conquering of this area wars etc.http://i.imgur.com/JanALPo.jpg
melancholyroar
Omg this is beautiful! Any chance on banners and/or balcony at the top of the main keep?
Tlaffoon
Thanks :) and yes there will be plenty of banners and you can actually walk around the top of the keep including the little turret towers so no need for balconies. melancholyroar
Awesome to hear, what texture are you using for most of the buildings?
Tlaffoon
Most of the castle buildings use the whiterun stone textures (they fit the region best), some are original, and a few are modified to look better. The wooden buildings such as farms use vanilla farmhouse textures. The main use of vanilla textures is to reduce the file size. The furniture, banners, armours and etc are pretty much all custom made textures. One thing i did in the keep you might notice is the floor slabs are actually 3d :ninja: Edited August 5, 2015 by Tlaffoon
Tlaffoon
Made a new watch tower based of an 8th century round tower..its about 105 feet tall. And located in the lichyard of the castle.http://i.imgur.com/BeL2ZnL.jpgAt night..looks kind of creepy :)http://i.imgur.com/HD15idB.pngAnd from the road to the main gate.http://i.imgur.com/6X1SiaE.jpg

I think that will let the banners and customs textures really pop.
Tlaffoon
Here's the armour i'm basing the players off of except i'm replacing the lions with wolves. I'll probably have the texture finished after 30-40 hours.. :geek:..i'm being optimistic. The armour will be made from ebony, steel, and silver rather than gold (it will be a wedding gift..maybe)http://i.imgur.com/CdHRPY8.jpg Edited August 6, 2015 by Tlaffoon
