chmilz
My first playthrough using KCAS (and a heap of other mods, only one that could cause a conflict is OOO), and about 8 hours in I still have not leveled and the progress bar shows no movement. I've definitely skilled up some major skills, and my attributes have gone up. I chose The Great Wheel path. Is it bugged? Have I not raised my major skills and associated attributes enough? Thanks in advance for the help :)
Hickory
KCAS is way outdated and is incompatible with many newer mods. You really should be using an alternative. Something like Oblivion XP.
chmilz
Good to know. I'll make the switch. Is OOO and MMMforOOO still current or should I be using something like FCOM in conjunction with OblivionXP? Is there a list of "must-have-mods, 2011 edition"? I've seen lots of essential mod lists from like 2008...

I've seen lots of essential mod lists from like 2008... I use OOO with Oblivion XP, and it works very nicely, especially since you can customise the levelling system of OXP. I don't use FCOM or MMM, so I can't help you there. Regarding a list of "must have" mods, there is no such universal list, and never can be. Mods, by their nature, are liked by some, often to the point of fanaticism, while others are loathed and villified. Only you can decide which mods are for you. Utilities, on the other hand, have a specific task, and with a moderate to heavily modded Oblivion, the most useful tools in your arsenal are: BOSSWrye BashTES4LODGenTES4EditTES4FilesTES4Geckoand if you are into OMODs, Oblivion Mod Manager Extended. Some, like BOSS, Wrye Bash and TES4LODGen you will use all the time. Others will be there for if and when you need them.
chmilz
Ok so I removed Kobu and added OXP. I load up my existing character, and nothing happens. Menus are there, XP text box is there, but it stops there. I went out of town and killed a few wolves, and nothing scrolls through the box. I was also under the impression that for existing characters, once I started up the game, it would give me some kind of popup asking me to allocated skills and stuff. Hickory
You are running the game with OBSE, aren't you?
chmilz
I got it working. Not sure what the issue was. I rechecked my OBSE install, re-Bashed my mods, looks good to go now. Thanks for the advice and help, I think OXP is more my style than Kobu. Cheers!
