MNDShadowGR
Looking to get a DSLR. I've been shooting film SLR for 10 years now. Don't want to go full frame because of cost. So the two I've set my eyes on are the Nikon D7000 with 18-105mm lens, or the Sony A580 with 18-250mm lens. Nikon does use the same CMOS sensor as the Sony A580. Wondering what your input is, and if I should lean toward the Nikon or Sony. Both are in the $1400.00 range.
Illiad86
I don't have much experience with either of those brands, I have a Canon Rebel XSi (450D). Nikon does seem to make quality SLRs as well, we were deciding between the Nikon or the Canon when we purchased ours. What is the CMOS sensor size on those? The Canon T2i is the next one on our list or maybe the newest Nikon. Cripes...haha, I'm behind, they have new ones beyond the T2i now...and holy....expensive  I really wish they would use CCD sensors over CMOS in our situation, we do astrophotography. CCDs are more sensitive for that type of photography. Edited February 10, 2011 by Illiad86
