damnit

i deleted MLLY long ago because i learnt how to do it so i didnt need it in my plug-in list any longer.

problem is - i've forgotten how to do it....

1. create an esp with hearthfires as master.

2. search mannequin and make changes to both BYOHmannequins and playerhomemannequins.

3. use the drop-down to change actor model to 'player'...

4... but what else?

tick the 'is unique' check box ?

tick the 'use traits' check box ?

whatever i seem to try either crashes the game when entering a house - or doesnt work properly - it used to be so simple to do

does anyone have a copy ? - or knows/remembers how to make your own MLLY ?

please PM me if you can help

Very close there xauss

Steps 1-3 are correct

4 is to tick "use traits"

After that save the plugin

Launch the game without the plugin active and move yourself to a different cell where there are no mannequins (only necessary if your save is in a cell with mannequins).

Save and exit the game

Activate the plugin

Re-enter the game, navigate to the mannequins

Perform the following for each and every mannequin

open console & select mannequin, then enter as needed

SetRace RACENAME --- replace with correct race name e.g. Nord, Khajiit
SexChange --- if gender of mannequin is not the same as player

exit console

navigate to a different cell (goal is to do something that makes the cell reload)

Option 1:

Save game, reload save, re-enter mannequin cell and make sure the changes stuck

Option 2:

open console and type PCB, close console and check on the mannequins.

Alternatively, perform steps 1-4 then edit the player record (id# 00000014) to use the same race and gender as that which you selected at character creation. Then compare your plugin against all active plugins with TES5Edit. If any other plugin edits the player record, drag and drop their changes into your plugin.

No matter which method performed concerns might arise with player changes to vampire lord and werewolf

EDIT: Realized I missed a step, modified the above.

EDIT 2: You'll also have to contend with a mismatch in skin color between the head which looks like the player and the body. This was never fully resolved. One solution was to edit the player record and assign the selected color as the default. Furthermore, with advancements in RaceMenu and Enhanced Character Edit mods, there is much more that can go wonky with trying to get a mannequin to look exactly like your current character.

One reason I gave up on MLLY (both releases of it) was that I created a mannequin appearance replacer that looked near identical to the first character I played (see profile pic). Saved me the hassle of having to fiddle with the console to try and get the mannequin just right.
