k3v Man
im not really sure how to help you but here are a few suggestions. 1. Does your computer meet the requirements for oblivion if not better. Maybe Your computer cant handle the overload when it loads after the character creation. 2. I dont uderstand which u bought new computer or new oblivion but maybe if your computer is old it has a virus or something that restarts when a certain file is procced overall i think this is a computer problem
Yndifall
The thing is my PC meets the reqs and it runs several other games, Like Half Life 2 and LOTR Battle for middle eart fine. I think it might be the disk.
Switch
Does this only happen on Oblivion then? And can you see any surface damage to the disk (such as smudges, scratches, etc)? It does sound like your PC isn't handling the strain of loading the cell to me. Oblivion is a lot rougher on the system than Half-Life 2 or Battle for Middle Earth. Try lowering the graphics to medium/minimum and see if it still crashes at the same point.
Yndifall
thanks for the advice I will try that, and I uninstalled Half Life 2 to free up some memory. and there is no visable damage to the disk, thanks switch

Switch
Soo what worked, reducing the graphics? Or did you find some alternate solution? (Might help figure out why Rens is making you crash).
Guest Tessera
Loading up someone else's saved game that incorporates custom hairstyles can cause some systems to crash. This is a rare, but known bug in Oblivion. The symptoms of this bug are: (1) character appears in-game with the wrong hairstyle, or bald.(2) attempting to open the console ("showracemenu") and fix the hairstyle causes the game to crash.(3) thus, the character can not be fixed using the in-game console. There's a work-around for it, which involves downloading a utility and then using it on the saved game in question. The utlity will "fix" the saved game file, by assigning a normal, default hairstyle to the character. Then, open that "fixed" character in-game and use the console ("showracemenu") to restore Ren's proper hairstyle to that character. Lastly, re-save the game as you normally would. After that, the character in question should be fixed from that point onwards. The utility is on TESSource... I just forget the exact name of it. "ShowRaceMenu Fix," or something like that. A search using "ShowRaceMenu" should find it.
Yndifall
Switch I reduced the graphics which made Oblivion work fine, but I tested Oblivion with any mod and presto, the same results. My Pc restarts and I lose all data I have for oblivion. I never manage to save a game because it restarts before I can do anything. I might aswell give up. Switch
Bizarre... are any of your components overheating at all? Maybe Tessera should field this one when he has time (he usually has an answer for everything :P). It could be that adding mods is causing just enough additional strain that your PC is crashing? Can you at least play without any mods?
