Dottyy
Firstly i know that i'm kinda late to the Witcher 3 train when it was released. But coudln't play it at the release date for being busy with school and life in general. But is Witcher 3 worth buying? I'm kinda low on money right now but i can spend a penny on a few games and wonder if it's worth buying the game for 59,99£ on steam right now or simply getting other titles out on the market right now. billyro
Yes. Okay, okay. I actually wrote a Steam review on the game - I'll copy-paste it here. The Witcher 3 - RecommendedAn epic adventure with marvelous graphics, a captivating story and interesting characters. Definitely worth your money, as you'll be spending a lot of time in this game (I'm currently at 30 hours and I don't think I've even scratched the surface).Pros:- Visually and audibly stunning- Huge open world- Choice and consequence that actually feels like you have an impact- Excellent characters and voice acting, topped off by an awesome protagonist- Frequently released patches that have fixed pretty much all the CTDs I was having- Optimised, stable gameplay- Mature themes that are well paced and smartly created (IMO)- Varied environments, monsters and architecture- Small filesize considering just how large the game is- Vast lore with amazing depth- Superior gameplay to The Witcher 2- Refined alchemy system that don't require you to be psychic- Good amount of customisationCons:- Difficulty spikes (sometimes a different tactical approach is required, however)- Movement smoothing makes exploration and combat frustrating- Roach (the horse) is a spastic- You will often see NPCs with a re-used face- Occasional glitches- Unskippable cinematic every time you load a game EDIT: That "I'm currently at 30 hours" bit... yeah, not any more. Now I'm at 70 hours (second playthrough). My first play-through took exactly 50 hours, and I didn't even do a lot of the side-quests.
